What a wonderful night celebrating America 250 with some of my favorite Action News ladies! Philadelphia Style Magazine 6abc Action News

Look what I received! — This beautiful statue marks my 25+ years as a journalist with ABC and Disney. I started with the company as a reporter for ABC13 Houston in 1999, then became part of the 6abc Action News family in Philadelphia in the fall of 2002. I have so much gratitude for the opportunity to serve our viewers as an anchor and reporter for so many years. I’ve covered it all - from hurricanes to COVID to, of course, consumer news to save our viewers money, expose scams, and warn of product dangers.

Along the way, it’s been meaningful to use my voice as a woman, an Asian American, and a daughter of immigrants. I hope I’ve made people feel seen and heard, and brought communities together to show that there are more things that unite us than separate us. As I said in my TEDx talk, I believe strongly that finding common ground can open up a space to dialogue about our differences.

To all the folks out there with big dreams, keep striving and believing. If someone had told my younger self that I would eventually become an anchor and reporter for THE powerhouse station in the 4th largest market in the country, I would have had a hard time believing it. But here I am. Work hard.. BELIEVE.. and PERSIST.

P.S. Thank you to those who found my anniversary Tinkerbell statue for a belated celebration! Apparently the poor girl had been hidden away for a couple years.. So happy she’s getting her moment to shine now!
