We provide financial assistance to families who cannot afford to privately euthanize their terminally ill pet. That is how Emeka’s Fund was created.
Emeka’s Fund is an idea born out of an owner surrender named Emeka. Emeka was an older German Shepherd who seemed loved and cared for throughout his life. However, as Emeka started to age, he became really sick. His owner took him to the vet and after some diagnostic testing, it was determined that Emeka was terminally ill. His owner was unable to afford private euthanasia and with a heavy heart,

It’s that time of year again—the fourth quarter has ended, and the bills are due. At this moment, we are financially depleted, with no money left in the bank.
Historically, we have been able to meet our obligations through the support of our partners, because the work we do is vital to the Philadelphia community. Even now, despite these challenges, I continue to answer the phone and show up every day, helping pet owners ensure their beloved animals have a safe, compassionate place at the end of their lives.
