What's up at the Bride?

Come on out to our Community Open House on September 30th at 2pm to meet the team and get a preview of what's ahead this fall!

For this week's Vibrary we'll have a special Cyanotype Workshop with Yannick Lowery called IMPRINT YOUR WEST PHILLY STORY.

Using light and photographic printmaking, you’ll create your own cyanotype while contributing to something that will live beyond the afternoon. Images created during the workshop will help shape artwork for the Little Free Libraries coming to Painted Bride Project Space.

No art-making experience is necessary. Bring your memories, your curiosity, and your perspective. And as always, we'll have coffee, tea, and vibes!

Originally slated for presentation last June during What Now: 2026, The Becoming arrives at Painted Bride this fall.

An immersive and oral history experience by Shavon Norris (Me+Jesus+Prince+Picard+Bronx), the project invited four Black female-identifying Philadelphians, ages 13 to 39, into a communal process of interviews, portraits, rediscovered rituals, and song. The result is a living exhibition of listening booths and storytelling.

Gallery Hours (no tickets required, walk-ins welcome): Wed Sept 30 & Thu Oct 1, 3–7PM

Performances: Fri Oct 2 & Sat Oct 3 @ 7PM and Sun Oct 4 @ 3PM
