Schluter allows our guys to do a free training on their products every year. A shower is only as good as its water proofing. Training in correct installation is key.

Staining a cabinet takes attention to detail. This shop work is essential in learning to be a well rounded carpenter.

Yes you may see our guys in lowes a lot. They do offer free coffee for pro customers. On this occasion the guys were learning to but the correct amp breaker for 12/2 wiring.

At some point, somebody has to trust you enough to let you try.

Then they have to stay close enough to teach you when you get stuck.

That’s mentorship.

It isn’t doing the work for someone. It’s giving them the guidance and opportunity to eventually do it for themselves.

That’s what we’re working toward every day at Doylestown Vocational Program.

Why paid training?

Because learning a trade takes real time and real work.

The people in our program aren’t sitting in a classroom watching somebody else do the job. They’re working alongside experienced tradesmen, learning tools, developing skills, and contributing to real projects.

And while they’re learning, they’re earning.

That’s a huge part of D-Town Vocational Program.

Hands-on training. Someone beside you who’s willing to teach. The opportunity to ask questions, make mistakes, try again, and keep learning.

Skill comes with repetition.

So does confidence.

Every project gives our trainees another opportunity to learn, improve, and take a little more ownership of their work.
