Good news for motorists in the West Valley as a new westbound lane opened along Loop 101 Agua Fria between 51st and 75th avenues.

After last weekend's closure, there are now four general purpose travel lanes (and a HOV lane) on the westbound side as the widening project hits another key milestone.

The project, which began in September 2024, is designed to improve the flow of traffic and is scheduled to be completed next Spring.

Work continues on other aspects of the project including an additional freeway entrance turn lane along southbound 75th Avenue.
