Happy Stitches Community, we need your help! 💖

A whole year of saving up has led to this moment—her sticker packaging upgrade! 🥰 Cataleya is currently using her original “Small Business Owner” stickers (that you see in the photo in Slide 1!) to figure out her layout ideas, and she is SO close to finalizing the design for the new ones.

But as a small business, every penny counts. 💰 We are officially waiting for the next big sale email to drop before we place the order!

While we wait, we want YOU to help us decide which design should join our new circle quality confirmers! Swipe to see the options and cast your vote.

How to Vote:

Comment “1” for the elegant, handwritten script 1.png “Thank You”.

Comment “2” for the fun, playful typography 2.png “Thank You”.

Comment “3” for the clean, typographic 3.png “Small Business Owner” (a fresh take on our old style!).

Which one do you want to see on your next Happy Stitches order? Drop your vote below! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for that sale notification... 🤞✨

We know we are doing things a little differently with our 11-year-old.

My husband and I helped build the foundation for her small business. As her mentors, we, invest, we buy and we promote the heck out of her. We believe that when she sees how proud we are of her work, it sparks that same deep pride in herself.

The passion has to come from her, and her driving “why” is 🌸. She’s learning true ownership by earning the money to pay for all of Flora’s own needs.

She’s currently saving for,
🩺 Next Month: Her wellness visit

❄️ This Winter: Getting Flora spayed

She has a full inventory of gorgeous, handmade bags sewn earlier this year that are ready to go! 👜✨

Is teaching 11-year-olds total ownership the future, or are allowances still the way to go? Let us know!

Did you know I’m a competitive swimmer year-round? 🏊‍♀️
Which means I’m at the pool a lot! The hardest part was always opening my bag after practice and finding out my wet training suit made all my dry clothes damp. 😅💦

So I sat down at my machine and sewed this super cute wet bag using my tools. (And if you know me, you know I had to pick the cutest prints!) 🎨✨

The interior lining acts as a great barrier to keep all that moisture separated, so I can toss it right in my dry bag and my clean clothes stay safe. It makes packing up so much easier! 🙌

If you want to sew one for your own bag or your kids, comment SWIM and I’ll DM you the link to my step-by-step tutorial on the Clover blog! 👇🧵 WetBagTutorial SwimBagEssential Kidpreneur SewingReels DIYWetBag SwimGear KidsWhoSew BeginnerSewing

Teaching our kids about strong values is one thing, but helping my daughter put them into practice with her own business? That’s a whole new level. 💖✨

We’ve always strived to teach her the importance of fair wages and supporting the real people behind the products we buy. So as sh’s building Happy Stitches, we made sure her business practiced exactly what we’ve been teaching her.

Did you know that the majority of Happy Stitches—from the fabrics and zippers right down to the packaging—is sourced directly from small and local businesses in the US and Canada? 🇺🇸🇨🇦

Is it more expensive for her to source materials this way? 100% YES. But if you want fair wages for workers, it starts by choosing sustainable, ethically sourced materials. When you support Happy Stitches, you aren’t just buying a handmade bag—you’re supporting a whole network of small businesses. 🌸🪡

If you ever wonder if taking risks is WORTH IT for your kids... watch this clip twice. 🥹👇

A year ago, her shoulders were hunched, she was trembling, and the idea of talking to a business owner was terrifying. But instead of shielding her from “no,” I kept pushing her to put herself out there. Worst case scenario? You get really good at talking to decision-makers.

Fast forward to today.

We were at a spot we go to all the time when she noticed someone walk into the back office. She wasn’t even sure if he was the boss, but she peeked her head in anyway, asked if he owned the place, and just started talking.

No formal meeting. No rehearsed pitch. Just her, being real, talking about her business.

And after almost a year of constant rejections, high-margin excuses, and months of waiting for this exact moment... SHE FINALLY GOT HER FIRST YES. 🎉🙌

She isn’t just sewing today—she’s standing taller, talking bolder, and learning that she can handle the real world.

(Meanwhile, I’m over here panicking on signage design duty, trying to make it pretty enough to pass her strict boss-lady standards! 🎨✂️)

Forget classroom presentations—she walked right up to a decision-maker in the wild and closed the deal.

What happens when your bestie is an amazing artist? You spend 8 months turning her art into a pouch! 🎨✂️✨

If you know Cataleya, you know how much heart she pours into choosing the perfect fabrics. But this project is extra special because the design came straight from the sketchbook of one of her insanely talented friends! ❤️

It all started when her friend drew up this incredible artwork. They teamed up on sizing, got sample pieces printed, and Cataleya crafted a prototype. Once they fell in love with it, we ordered the official fabric!

That fabric arrived a few weeks ago, but Cataleya needed the exact right interior fabric to bring out the design. That final piece just arrived today—and she was so excited she sprinted straight to her machine to sew the final look! 🧵💨

With their coffee date happening this week, Cataleya is finally going to surprise her friend with the completed Mini Treasure Pouch! Seeing a hand-drawn piece of art transform into a real, handmade treasure is pure magic. 🥹✨

After 8 months in the making, we can’t wait to bring this special print to the shop!

CASH IS NOT THEIR FUTURE. 🚫💸

Let’s be honest for a second.

On market weekends, parents walk up to our booth and say, “She needs to learn cash handling!”

And every time, it makes me ask: Are we teaching our kids for THEIR future, or are we just teaching them what WE grew up with? 🧠💡

Think about it:
When was the last time you paid for your groceries, fuel, or rent with a stack of bills? Modern money is digital, systems-driven, and automated.

Counting out change is 2nd-grade mental math. It is not business literacy.

If you genuinely want your child to build a brand for the LONG TERM, skipping cash, Venmo, and Zelle isn’t optional—it’s essential:

💭 Ask yourself:

Is physical cash giving them financial discipline? Or does a $20 bill just sit in their pocket until it gets spent on market snacks, never hitting a bank account?

Is Venmo teaching them commerce? Or is it just teaching them how to ask for favors on a personal app without understanding merchant fees, card processing, digital receipts, or sales tax?

Are you treating their work like a garage sale? Yes, buying a dedicated POS terminal and setting up barcodes is an INVESTMENT. But business is an investment. If we model low standards for their tools, why would we expect high-level outcomes for their future?

From Day 1 at we refused casual transfer apps. That foundation is the only reason stepping up to barcode scanning was a natural next step.

Is she 100% fluent on inputting complex backend inventory SKUs yet? Not at all—that’s her current learning curve! But taking tap payments, driving revenue, and running a professional checkout like a CEO? She’s miles ahead. 🧵✨

Parenting an entrepreneur means preparing them for the world that will exist when they’re adults, not the one we lived in 20 years ago. 📈

What do you think—are we holding kids back by clinging to old habits, or is cash still necessary?
