Sometimes the first lesson of a trip happens before you ever arrive.

My flight to Chicago was diverted because of tornadoes, and what should have been a simple afternoon arrival turned into six unexpected hours sitting on the tarmac in Indianapolis.

There was a time when that kind of delay might have completely changed my mood.

This time, I surrendered.

I stayed present. I talked with the people around me. I meditated. I accepted that there was nothing I could do but trust the journey and allow the day to unfold differently than I had planned.

And when I finally arrived in Chicago, I appreciated every part of the experience even more.

The city.
The food.
The adventure.
The conversations.
And especially the room I had traveled there to be in.

Spending time with entrepreneurs who are already creating the results I’m building toward gave me an incredible energy injection. Hearing them speak honestly about their first year in business, their challenges, their decisions, and the growth required to reach the next level reminded me that success is not always about pushing harder.

Sometimes it is about surrendering the timeline while staying deeply committed to the vision.

I came home feeling grateful, reconnected to my North Star, and even more certain that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Next stop: Phoenix this Saturday.

And this time, I’ll be welcoming others into the room that continues to remind me what is possible.

One year later, I’ve traveled internationally. I’ve met incredible people. I’ve learned more about business, leadership, and myself than I imagined possible. Now, I get to share that experience with others.
