My grandad’s stories about his work at the old
mines shaped how I look at safety in my own business.

My grandad worked in deep mines in Revloc.
Unless you’re from here, you haven’t heard of it.
It’s a small, coal mining town in Pennsylvania.

He was good at his job.
But it came with risks.
Safety wasn’t top of mind back then.

I didn’t really understand the risk until one summer.

He took me to the Revloc Centennial Festival,
and we stumbled on old news articles from that time.

He saw the obituaries from the miners who were killed.
He remembered them all.

I heard the stories of these men who died in the mines.

These men were his friends, fathers, and husbands.

The stories my Granddad told are the reason
why I care so much about the people I work with.

Every time I execute a project, my top priority is
making sure the people on my team get home safely.

Safety IS always top of mind for me.

No risks. No excuses. We don’t live in the past.

What is number one priority in your business?

Some PMs are still using outdated tech…like
that one critical path sticky note. There are new and better ways.

In 2006, I interned with the Pennsylvania Dept
of Environmental Protection testing soil and water.

Back then, we did things the “old way”.
Physical paper maps.
Mapquest directions printed on paper.
And a flip phone with spotty cell service.

Finding the right sampling sites was tough.
Sometimes impossible.

Today, we have new ways.
GPS coordinates, digital maps, and better surveys.

New tech makes this work quicker, easier, and cheaper.
But some companies are still not taking advantage.

Some companies we work with struggle to track
the precise location of the equipment they install.

Equipment & pipelines are tracked according to
plans, but no one updates the GPS with the installed location.

In the long run, this slows down dozens of other projects.
Efficiency drops and frustration rises.

For companies who want to get ahead, we can
use 3D laser scans to create detailed models
speeding future retrofit projects–over and over again.

The problem for companies is rarely the tech itself.
It’s finding time to identify the tech they need.
It’s finding time to integrate it into their business.
It’s finding time to set it up the first time.

This is where we come in.
We’ll help you modernize your business.

Just give me a call…but no flip phones, please.

In what ways has technology changed the way you work today?

As a small business owner, there’s always more
to do than time to do it in. Here’s how I manage:

At the beginning of Proshare, I cast a wide net.
We bid on anything and everything.
We bid to get our name out there and to learn.
We landed some great projects, but without focus.

But now 3 years later, I’m more focused. I have to be.
And it boils down to setting clear priorities for my time.

Here’s how I prioritize my work:
- Executing on a contract: Do the work, do it right.
- Going the extra mile for existing clients.
- Finding the right next project to bid on.
- Building relationships & my network (like now 😊)

I’ve realized this is the best way to do my business.

In 2024, Proshare is ready to take on bigger things.
-More clients in the oil and gas field
-More compression station and pipeline projects
-More projects in utilities
-More construction services projects

And, I know we’ll be able to deliver because
I have my priorities right.

What are your priorities for 2024?

I almost made a horrible career error, but my
Uncle pointed me in the right direction.

My favorite projects are oil & gas projects:
- Building compressor stations
- Running pipelines
- Managing compliance

If you know me now, it’s not a surprise to you.
But, if you knew me in college, you’d be floored.

My plan after college was to go into
pharmaceuticals or biomedical engineering.

My degree is in chemical engineering and a minor
in bioengineering, so my career choice made sense to me.

But my grades weren't high enough to get into
medical school, so I applied for optometry right after college.

Fortunately, a conversation with my uncle saved
me from making a wrong career choice.

“Are you really going to go $300K in debt to
become an optometrist when you could make more $$$ as an engineer?”

(Plus, I don’t do well with gross things. 🙂)

So, I got a job at an environmental engineering firm.

My boss told me I’d be working in water and wastewater.
AND, I’d be doing business development in oil and gas.

I had plenty to learn about both and was excited to start.

I learned how to create compelling sales presentations.

I was even selling well when I had 0 clue of what
I was selling. But clients kept coming back again & again.

They trusted me. Not because I had all the
answers, but because they knew I’do my best to find them.

Today, nearly 15 years later, I LOVE oil & gas projects.

The sense of accomplishment the first time you
send gas through the pipeline I engineered is addictive.

But so is:
Going out and working with crews.
Finding creative and safe ways to save costs.
Nailing the environmental and regulatory requirements.

I’m excited.
I can’t wait to see what we build in 2024..
No matter what projects we land,
…it’s better than looking at eyeballs all day!

I’m actively looking for oil and gas projects.
If this is your industry, drop me a DM.
Let’s chat!

What are you looking forward to more of next year?
