A New Chapter for Hello Neighbor!

Hi Neighbors,

After ten years of founding and leading Hello Neighbor, I have decided to step down as CEO at the end of 2026.

I am extraordinarily proud of what we have built together: the team, the programs, the partnerships, the community, and an organization that has grown far beyond anything I could have imagined in the earliest days.

I also feel genuinely ready for this transition and deeply confident in Hello Neighbor’s future.
I will continue leading through the end of 2026 as transition planning moves forward. After that, I plan to take a real period of rest before deciding what comes next.

There is much more I could say, and there will be time for that. There will also be opportunities to celebrate together before this chapter closes.

For today, thank you. Building Hello Neighbor has been one of the great honors of my life!

For many refugees and immigrants, building a life in Pittsburgh also means navigating a complex immigration system. Legal guidance can help make that process clearer and open doors to greater stability, opportunity, and belonging.

Hello Neighbor’s legal team works alongside our neighbors to help them understand their options, navigate immigration processes, and work toward goals like citizenship.

That work is facing a funding change. Our federal contract supporting these legal services ends September 30. As that funding comes to an end, community support will be increasingly important to help us continue providing the legal services our neighbors need.

The Hello Neighbor Network, powered by Hello Neighbor, is honored to announce the launch of the COMPACT* Cohort pilot, made possible by funding from Walmart Foundation

During this 30-month program, the Hello Neighbor Network will work alongside six organizations to test the impact of full-time Volunteer Coordinators. Cohort members will engage in a peer learning community to build and refine strategies that increase volunteer engagement and deepen intergroup contact.
