Homeless Cat Management Team
The Homeless Cat Management Team works to humanely reduce the population growth of homeless cats thro We do not provide relocation or adoption services.
Our program focuses on Community Cat, (otherwise commonly known as feral and stray) Colonies, and friendly kitties rescued from these colonies to be placed into loving homes. Responsible "Outside" cats caretakers must provide food, water, shelter and veterinary care when necessary, to the felines they feed. We do not operate an animal shelter. Our high volume spay/neuter clinics include the following:
Spay/neuter surgery for cats and kittens (This includes a preventative antibiotic, anesthetic and IV pain medication). Rabies vaccination for all cats over three months of age. This service is included in the Feral Cat Package. Rescue cats will incur an additional $8.00 charge for this service to defray our cost. Frontline treatment for fleas, grooming to remove fleas, ticks, ear mites, matted fur, etc. Mandatory left ear-tipping for spayed/neutered feral cats being re-released, for ease of recognition

Vincent wants to know if you'll be joining us at Pins for Purrs on 10/4 with Pittsburgh CAT ?!
Pins for Purrs is one of our main fundraisers of the year and helps support cats at the HCMT clinic like Vincent! Vincent was brought in for TNR but had ear mites so bad that he really tore up his poor ear. We have been able to give Vincent a safe place to recoup while his ear heals. If he decides he likes it inside with people, when we have space available, we'll place him with a foster!
Bowling with us on 10/4 allows us to keep helping cats like Vincent and get others adoption ready!

Wonder how our cats and kittens go from rescue to adoption?
HCMT works with volunteers and community cat caretakers to spay/neuter cats in their areas. Sometimes cats like Fennec are too injured, ill, or just too friendly to re-join their colonies, or are rescued from bad situations.
With our sister organization, Pittsburgh CAT , we assess friendly felines for socialization and adoptability. If we have the space, after spay/neutering and administering age-appropriate vaccines we look for foster placement with our network of volunteers. Once the cats and kittens have recovered, grown some, and spent time socializing with humans, we work to find them homes!
Be sure to follow Pittsburgh CAT to see adoption ready cats like Fennec π€π
Fennec is a happy, playful kitten who has come incredibly far from his beginnings in a hoarding house. Although he entered rescue severely emaciated with eye infections that almost completely obscured his vision, heβs now healthy and ready for a forever home!

βοΈ Donations needed for Phoenix!
Remember Phoenix who we helped in July? His face is looking much better but the wounds on his neck are taking longer to heal. He is still receiving regular wound treatment and general care and will be with us a while longer. Phoenix is still not so sure about people. While he is continuing to heal he is becoming a little more comfortable with humans feeding him, but we're not so sure he'll want to be actual friends. Regardless he has a safe place with us to hang out while he keeps getting better π§‘

The clinic could use some supplies. Feisty kittens like this one love churu so we go through a lot! Pittsburgh CAT fosters could also use some kitten food.
Check out the list and send something if you can!
