Ritual Relish

Along with the titles, the details on the edges of the canvas are what make this collection special, adding visual interest and depth.

One thing that many people have loved about this show is the titles.

For me it was something that unified the work, instead of possibly triggering someone or being dark, they're all motivational and inspiring. They connect us to ourselves and the human experience, much like the images themselves.

Some of the works got titles when I photographed them. I can't help it. They reminded me in that moment of something or in some cases related to a situation or a person at the time.

This one, titled "Do Things That Make Your Heart Beat Faster With Joy", to me, will always be "Jimmy Thought It Was Safe To Flirt".

Either one is appropriately titled, to me they are related. And I'm so glad that ededwa and Margaret Smith enjoyed the story behind it and we all had a full belly laugh about it.

Because let's face it, Jimmy, it's not safe to flirt. And it's still one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. That's why they call it flirting with disaster. And fortunately, there was no disaster.

Anyway, I didn't want the titles for this show to be personal to me. With the Umbrella Corpses I've always wanted the viewer to come away with their own interpretation, not colored by my experience.

Thank you I had to put it in the closet at first because Henry loved it, too! (He tried to take one of the umbrellas!) 🌂😂🥰🙏🏼
