2019 brought us "La Casita". basically a hard-sided tent on wheels. It was perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest and testing the theory of whether we would camp more often if some of our things were ready to go at a moments notice. From having our favorite Sno-Park to ourselves for a weekend of cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing, our favorite dispersed camping spot (after a very epic failed first attempt complete with a 2 am mystery visitor and morning sleet), to a last-minute long-weekend trip around the Olympic Peninsula, we did camp more often. Sometimes when you get further away from some memories, it can feel like it wasn't enough. Then you look at the pictures and remember how many incredible moments there were. Tasting the best slice of carrot cake you've ever had and happened to get 10 minutes before the place closed. Watching your kiddo enjoy s'mores, learn to take their first photos, and the joy of being disconnected with no cell service. Giving the senior rescue dog the best last years of her life. Where did "La Casita" take us next?

In the time PK (pre-kid), we camped quite a bit. Camping felt simple, pack some oatmeal and protein bars, a bin of other supplies and off you went.

But, as any of you with kids know, nothing with kids is simple. Sometimes you drive an hour with plans for a big hike, only to make it less than a mile before your kid loses their mind.

And traveling with kids requires so much gear, the seats, the pack and play (yes for human and furry kids).

The first time we camped as a family of four (two adults, the OG fur kid and one human child), the kid was about 2 years old, we borrowed a friends large tent and set off. It was a success by all accounts. And it was a lot of work. So we set out in search of other options. Stay tuned for the next edition.

Bruce travels in style

You didn't think Bruce drove himself to Loveland, did you? Tour accommodations: one Airstream, one very good boy, zero complaints. This is how you do Colorado. 🚌✨

Bruce found the brewery

After a full day of art criticism, napping, and philosophical contemplation, Bruce located Loveland Aleworks and expressed exactly how he felt about it. He was not allowed inside even though he is a very good boy. He found the back patio delightful. Bruce recommends rolling in, sniffing extensively, and eating the back grass. Water provided by Loveland Aleworks is 5 Stars. It pairs well with whatever pizza or pretzels you can manage to steal from the humans, lying under the picnic table, enjoying free pets from strangers, especially the small humans. 🍺🐾" Loveland Aleworks

Bruce vs. Dinosaur-Who wore it best?

Loveland has a dinosaur. A full metal skeleton dinosaur. Did anyone mention this before Bruce got here? No. Did Bruce handle it with dignity and grace? Mostly. He stared it down for a solid 30 seconds and declared a truce. Now Bruce would like to know, who wore it best? He's confident he nailed the pose and anyone passing by wouldn't have been able to tell which was the statue. 🦕🐾"

Unbothered. Unbotherable.

There is a bronze mountain lion approximately 8 inches above his head. Bruce has chosen, consciously and with full information, to nap anyway. This is the confidence we all aspire to. 😴🦁
