Working with autoclaves and sterilizers comes with real risks. Hot instruments, steam, and sharp tools can all lead to burns or cuts if proper precautions are not in place.
OSHA requires employers to assess these hazards and provide appropriate PPE. When handling hot or sharp items, use the right protection. Heat-resistant gloves help prevent burns, and puncture-resistant gloves reduce the risk of injury from sharp instruments.
