AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy – American Kennel Club AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is a program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start through basic training and socialization.
Repetition: Practice daily. Dogs learn and become reliable through repetition. Do not rush, the foundation is the most important part. Some dogs may learn an exercise after a few repetitions, some will take weeks to develop the same level of understanding
AKC Canine Good Citizen Practice Session
Training rule: Reward. This is whatever the dog loves- special treats, toys, praise, or play. Dogs learn new behaviors quickly with frequent rewards. As they learn, we ask more for each reward. Eventually, you will only reward occasionally.
