A moment from one of our past small-group trips—great people, shared experiences, and the kind of conversations that only happen when you travel together.
This is exactly the spirit behind the upcoming Lisbon Portrait Retreat: small group, meaningful connections, and time to really experience a place—not rush through it.
Because I’ve had a few people still on the fence, I’m extending the early-bird pricing through this weekend. If you’ve been considering it, this is a good moment to take a closer look.
I’m happy to answer questions. Message me if you are interested.

Attention Photographers:
I'm very excited to announce a portrait workshop that will be happening in 2026.
Those who know me are aware that I don't offer very many photographic workshops- but the chance to partner with my buddy PG was too much to pass up.
We are limiting this to a VERY small group, so let me know if you are interested. It is going to be absolutely epic so don't miss it.

There’s nothing quite like the bond between a father and his children. It’s strong, quiet, steady—and absolutely worth preserving.
This portrait is more than just a beautiful image. It’s a piece of history. A moment in time where little hands still fit perfectly in dad’s, and hugs are never in short supply.
With Father’s Day just around the corner, consider giving a gift that will mean more with every passing year. A gift certificate for a portrait session is a meaningful, lasting way to honor the connection between father and child.

Blending reality with imagination. This portrait was lit and posed in-studio—then dropped into an AI-generated street scene to create a cinematic vibe. Real person. Unreal world.
What do you think of the mix?

"The Photograph"
Well all good things must end- so it is time to officially bring the ONE Project to a close.
I've struggled the past year and a half to figure out what to use for my own ONE item. I finally settled - not surprisingly- on a photograph. It was from back in the film days - from an actual negative- so I'm pretty sure its the only copy there is. The photograph isn't even in a frame. It is just pinned to the bulletin board in my office.
It is just a snapshot taken in college. I was picking up this cute little red-haired girl for a date and her roommate snapped a photo of us. I didn't know it at the time, but my life was redirected.
You just never know when the small moments are actually huge moments.

The latest addition to my ONE Portrait Project- Zoe Martin and her bracelet.
Here is Zoe's story:
******
In the face of unimaginable grief, this bracelet has become a source of comfort. It's a constant reminder of my sister, Kristina’s, strength and unwavering spirit. When I look at it, I see not just a piece of jewelry, but a reflection of the incredible woman she was.
Kristina's diagnosis at 35 was a shock. She was an athlete who ran marathons, she seemed the picture of health. Yet, a seemingly insignificant lump turned into a fight for her life.
Her daughter, then just starting high school, became her driving force. Kristina wasn't about to give up. She battled cancer with an unmatched ferocity. Brutal treatments like chemo, radiation, and a double mastectomy became her reality, but her dedication to her daughter never wavered. She supported her through schoolwork, swim meets, and gymnastics, all while battling a war within her own body.
A teacher who inspired her students, Kristina was awarded a Lamp Lighter and an LISD Teacher of the Year. Even scheduling doctor's appointments revolved around minimizing disruptions for her students. Through it all, her smile and laughter never faltered. She was, quite simply, my hero.
When she lost her battle, I was by her side. She left behind a void no one could fill, but also a precious token - a James Avery bracelet she wore daily. The bracelet has a breast cancer charm and simply reads "Mama." My brother-in-law and her only child entrusted this bracelet to me. It has been a source of comfort as well as a constant reminder of the incredible woman she was.
This bracelet isn't just a piece of jewelry; it's a tangible connection to my sister. It's the warmth of her embrace, the echo of her laughter. It's the strength she embodied and the unwavering love for her daughter that fueled her fight. It's a daily reminder to face challenges head-on, to find joy in hardship, and to cherish the moments we have with loved ones.
Kristina may be gone, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. And for me, it lives on in the simple bracelet that adorns my wrist. It's more than a bracelet; it's a love that I will cherish as long as I live.
