It’s really nice to see familiar faces from the past…This motorcycle belongs to one of the many previous customers of RPM Cycle in Dallas (the dealership once run for 13 years by Autto Vintage Cycleworks’ owner), which is unfortunately no longer around. It came to us due to not being ridden regularly and needed a carburetor service, some new tires and some small, minor repairs. Would you believe this bike has almost 87k on it? Wow…..great to see you, Barry!

We cannot stress enough how much referrals are appreciated. This 2013 Daytona 675 came to us needing a check engine light diagnosed and a set of tires installed. The tires were the easy part. The check engine light was the exhaust valve cable motor that was defective. After installing a workaround and getting tires mounted and balanced, our customer can enjoy his low mileage used bike for the cooler time if the year. Thanks for this and all the other referrals!

Hope everyone is staying cool…..just worked on this 2009 Royal Enfield Bullet for one of my customers who decided that September will be the perfect month to start riding again due to the heat dissipating….maybe wait another week or so and it might cool down…..

Triumph motorcycles…..quite an iconic brand…..here is a 1996 Triumph Adventurer 900 triple on which we just replaced the fork seals. It still had the original fork fluid in the forks….very thin and very black……trust us to work on all the 90’s and 2000’s Triumphs, from regular service to making them roadworthy again.

Electronic fuel injection…..a modern day convenience that can be quite user friendly…..until it is not. Here is a 2014 BMW G650GS that came to us not running after sitting a short while. Turns out, the fuel pump inside the tank was locked up from sitting. Drained and flushed the fuel, cleaned the fuel injection system and installed a new fuel pump to get this machine going. Additionally, addressed some service items and got this bike ready for more adventure.
If you need help getting your machine going again, whether fuel injected or carbureted, call us and set up a time to bring your bike. It’s what we do!

Hello everyone…..here is another bike we serviced…..a 2012 Triumph Bonneville T100 that my customer personalized to make it his. It came in for a service that included valve adjustment. This one had six of the eight valves check on the loose side. Back together and ready to be enjoyed for a long while without any other major service due for 10k miles…..

Referrals! Again, here we are thanking some of our followers for more referrals. This particular one came to us from Minden, Louisiana for what started out as a 20k service visit. One of the additional concerns was the front end feeling “bouncy”. We found a front wheel out of round, and the customer opted to get Buchanan to supply a new wheel with the customers’ original hub. A new set of tires and a fork seal job topped off the service request list. My customer then flew in to DFW airport, took an Uber to the shop and rode the bike back to Minden. One last note on this bike: I sold it new at RPM Cycle, the Triumph dealership I ran as general manager for 13 years. Small world….

Although the vast majority of the motorcycles we touch here at the shop have been sitting and need to be made roadworthy, just as many just need regular service or tires (or both). Here is a 2022 Triumph Tiger 900 brought to me for just that: an oil change and tires. Let us know if we can help you on your next need for service!

A few of my repairs are to get machines ready for sale, since the owner has let the bike sit for an extended time due to life getting in the way. This 2005 BMW K1200LT is a great example. Fully serviced in 2018, it was ready to ride. Fast forward to this year and less than 900 miles later, the decision was made to get the bike running and sell it. We ended up doing both. Easy sale, since the bike needed nothing once we serviced it,replaced the fuel pump, and shod it with new tires. A new owner is now enjoying this awesome machine…..

Problem solving….some bikes need a bit of that when they are not running quite like they should. Multiple attempts had been taken to get the bike right and failed. This is where a bit of experience can be an immense help and a manual can be useless. The problem child? A 2012 MV Agusta F4 1000. The bike would start but only idled on a couple of cylinders. Once above 2k, it would run fine. The solution? We found that a throttle body synchronization spring was missing, causing two butterflies on the throttle bodies to shut down completely, not allowing for a nice, smooth idle. We replaced the spring and the bike ran beautifully. With a few additional repairs and a battery, this bike is now ready to be enjoyed again.
