More Wisdom in Motion ✨
Week 3: Ch. 9–12 Meditation & Equanimity

Krishna turns inward now. After teaching Arjuna how to act, he teaches him how to sit with the mind, with the breath, with whatever rises when the noise finally quiets. Equanimity isn’t numbness, Krishna reminds us. It’s the steadiness that allows us meet joy and grief with the same openness.

These chapters ask us to notice what happens in the pause. Not the dramatic stillness of a perfect meditation, but the small, ordinary moments of settling in, a breath before we speak, a beat before we react.

Ask yourself: What helped me settle this week? Where did I find stillness in the middle of motion?

The Path Unfolds ✨
Week 2: Ch. 5–8 Action & Wisdom
Krishna doesn’t ask Arjuna to choose between action and renunciation. He shows him how to hold both. Act fully, Krishna says, but release your grip on the outcome. Let the doing be the offering.

These chapters ask something harder than stillness: how do we stay engaged with our lives without being consumed by them? Krishna speaks of the steady mind, untouched by praise or blame, success or loss, not as detachment from life, but as a deeper way of belonging to it.
Sit with these teachings. Notice the difference between acting from ego and acting from purpose.

Ask yourself: Where am I gripping the outcome instead of trusting the process? What would it feel like to act fully and still let go?

The Journey Begins ✨

If you’re reading with us this month, this is where we begin.

Week 1: Ch. 1–4

Arjuna stands on a battlefield facing his own kin and freezes. He lays down his bow, questioning everything he thought he knew about duty and purpose. Krishna meets him there, not with easy answers, but with presence.

Take your time with these opening chapters. Sit with Arjuna’s doubt before his resolve. Notice where his questions echo yours.

Ask yourself: What “battlefield” are you facing in your life right now? Where in your life are you being asked to show up, even mid-uncertainty?

Our first Wisdom in Motion pick is the Bhagavad Gita 🌿

It’s one of the first texts many of us encounter in teacher training, dense, ancient, easy to skim past. But it’s also a foundation of yogic thought, the place where questions about duty, attachment, and action get asked in a way that still holds up. I wanted to start here on purpose. Not as a syllabus requirement, but as something we actually sit with, together, at a pace that lets it land in the body and not just in our notebooks.

It’s not necessarily a light read. It’s the right one to start with.

We’ll be moving through it over four weeks, with reflection prompts to hold what comes up. This is for anyone who wants a more embodied experience of communal yoga philosophy study, no prior knowledge required.

Space held with our affinity groups in mind, all are welcomed ✨

First gathering is Sept 20th at Rhythm’s Community Studio. Link in bio to join 🔗

Come read it with us.
