LACQUER
Lacquer finishings is used in the "fast-paced" production world of getting it Done and Out the door! It's an easy and cheap method for finishing commercial - Amazon-like products. It's generally good for a tabletops because it dries qu**ky... finishes look clear, resists water and makes the wood look smooth... but it's not the toughest choice for frequent use... especially for an Airstream.

RUBIO
Rubio Monocoat, as in the name... is a single coat product method for finishing real wood. While being around since 1960... it's wide commercial use just started around 2005. Like lacquer... it's a "Topical" finish that doesn't and importantly absorb into the wood. A Great product if you wish to finish "Pine" to look like "Walnut"... well, sort-of-a flat looking comparison..🤪

It's Thursday Trestle Talk Time... Airstream Style...😎

while all Airstream models are very similar, and identical models you would think would all be the same... every project that I create is custom tailor-made to order for each and every customer... not just another order taken off some warehouse storage shelf.

Trestle running rails are made in 12mm white baltic birch with a lacquer finish or can be covered in Formica / WilsonArt plastic laminate. Rails can also be created in beautiful 5/4" thick custom sawn pacific coast incense cedar, aka... softwood to any hardwood species you wish... not just walnut, oak or maple. The standard rail height is 3.5", but can be made taller if you wish for that plush mattress you may have.

The framework is machine CNC cut into modular units, available in either three... two or single frame panel options. These panels have pre-drilled hole locations including cabinetry fasteners for your installation.

Fun Friday Feature... since I took today off 😎

the last two weeks have been working with my stock of the beautiful Pacific Northwest incense cedar on another project and needed a creative break before wrapping up the final detail work. So, thought I would catch-up on a few of my other... "would-like-to-create" personal side projects.

Am I engraving that Frank Lloyd Wright pattern for the Caravel bathroom cabinet door remodel?... or, maybe it's a cool Retro Boat Dashboard? Well, not back on the Airstream bathroom remodel just yet... and, no longer have the boat. So took a few of those cedar boards to create this for TrixieTwinkie... the Airstream travel trailer. Our personalized version of the propane tank storage shelf.

oh.. and, gave the aluminum cabinet a good cleaning and wax too! 😁
