🌻 EVENT DETAILS:
Join us at the farm to make fire c***r, a warming, spicy herbal vinegar made with roots, herbs, citrus, and peppers for the changing season. We’ll begin with a walk around the farm to see what’s growing and gather some fresh ingredients, then come together to chop and fill our jars using farm-grown peppers and a mix of roots, herbs, citrus, and spices. All ingredients and supplies are provided.

🫙Everyone will leave with a 16 oz jar of fire c***r to infuse at home, along with instructions for straining, finishing, and enjoying it.

The flowers are still blooming, squash and tomatoes are ripening, and the air is starting to shift. It’s one of our favorite times to gather at Kindness Farm.

Each gathering is a chance to learn something with your hands, spend time outside, and be part of the community growing on this land.

A “weed” is just a plant that isn’t where we would like it to be. Did you know that many of the “weeds” in your garden are actually edible, medicinal, and highly nutritious?

Come to Kindness Farm and meet your local “weeds” and learn how they can become a part of your everyday diet as you deepen your relationship to place, plants, and your practice as a forager. This workshop is meant for beginner foragers, but all skill levels are welcome to attend.

🌻 EVENT DETAILS:

Before the advent of modern medicine, cultures all over the world relied on the medicine of our plant ancestors. Join us for an afternoon of exploring plant medicine in all of its facets: the uses of commonly available plants, foraging considerations for medicinal plants, and we’ll even share a few stories about a few of our plant elders - both native and displaced.

By the end of our session together, participants will have a deeper understanding of plant medicine, understand key techniques to plant-based first-aid, and will walk away with the start of their own apothecary kit.

🌻 EVENT DETAILS:
Join Nirmala and Jayanika for a day of harvesting, cooking, and sharing at the farm.

Together we'll make achaar (pickle), learn about gundruk (fermented greens), and prepare a shared meal of dal bhat (rice and lentils).

We'll harvest seasonal produce, spend some time tending the fields, and make achaar using fresh ingredients from the farm. As we gather, chop, and temper spices, we'll talk about preservation, seasonal cooking, and how fermentation has long been part of everyday life in Nepali and South Asian kitchens.

We'll also explore gundruk, a beloved Nepali fermented green often made from mustard or cauliflower greens. We'll talk about how it's made, when it's prepared, and why families have been making it for generations.

🥘 After cooking together, we'll gather around the table for a shared vegetarian and vegan meal of dal bhat with seasonal saag, gundruk, and achaar

🫙You'll leave with a large fermentation jar and recipes to continue experimenting at home!
