American Waterways Operators was proud to welcome Maritime Throwdown to our Summer Safety Meeting in Chicago.

While circumstances prevented us from demonstrating the Maritime Throwdown training rig during the meeting, we were glad to have the team with us and to highlight a mission we strongly support: showcasing the skill, professionalism, and talent of America’s towing vessel crews.

Maritime Throwdown turns the everyday skills of mariners into hands-on competition and training, helping reinforce the seamanship, line-handling, teamwork, and safety practices that are essential to towing vessel operations.

AWO is proud to support efforts that recognize the people who keep America’s tugboats, towboats, and barges moving safely and efficiently.
