And now readers are complaining that their favorite piracy site is gone. They’re fu***ng DONATING MONEY to keep it active.

I really can’t anymore. I just cannot.

I charge barely anything for my books. My most expensive ebook is $3.99. I put all of my ebooks up for free once every month. And my books are still put on piracy sites?

Why try? Why should I keep making sacrifices if readers are going to rip me off? And then get mad at me when I say they shouldn’t be stealing from authors?

I’m done. I’m fed up. I’m exhausted. Between this and genAI slop, I don’t have it in me anymore. I just don’t.

I had to say goodbye to my kitty Lester earlier this week. He got congestive heart failure and had fluid buildup in his chest. He was 12 years old and the most incredible, loving, cuddly love bug. I’ve been heartbroken and depressed and devastated since Tuesday. I miss him so much.

I’m not okay.

Sometimes as authors, we just really need someone to validate our work, our skill, our importance in the creative world. I’m focusing on poetry right now.

Generative AI is ruining the literary community, as well as causing enormous environmental damage, and it’s exhausting and expensive to keep trying to fighting it.

I will NEVER use generative AI for anything. Not writing, not art, not editing, not marketing. Nothing. I will continue to write my novels, but I’m too disheartened and fuming over what’s happening in the indie author community to be productive with my novels right now.

Poets seem to be the only literary community pretty universally united against generative AI, so I’m focusing on my 6/7 different poetry projects right now. For my sanity.

If you use generative AI for anything, or if you defend using it, you’re a hack. Block me. I genuinely and sincerely hope you fail in all of your creative endeavors.
