Hello hair friends.
I’m going to be out of office this week as I mourn the loss of my father.
He was the most incredible man, and I’m not just saying that lightly…. He literally was. He was a bright, shining star of positive energy and he always had a smile on his face. I’ve never known a more patient person. And man, what a head of hair he had!!!
When we moved to Nashville in 1987 from L.A, he was so stressed about finding a new hair stylist. Then, through a musician friend, he met . She took amazing care of his locks, and when she found out his baby girl was in hair school, she gave me a job. He’s the reason why I worked at Salon Yaya for 18 years. He said, “sure you passed state board, but the real test is cutting MY hair.” I passed the test 🙂 and Marilyn passed the torch to me.
I got to wash and blow dry his hair while he was in the hospital before his passing. I had no clue it would be the last time. But I’m so so grateful we had that moment and I was able to briefly make him feel better. We all know what the power of a good shampoo and blow dry can do ❤️
My dad had a pretty amazing musical career. You’ve heard him playing drums before, you just don’t know it. Google “Craig Krampf all music guide” and you’ll see. Pick your favorite song on the list, and blast it in his honor ❤️ (unfortunately not credited are a little diddy called “Eye of the Tiger” and “Under the Milky Way” because, well, sometimes session drummers/studio pro’s work need to be kept secret. 😛)

🧡listen, I love me some Shades ALK and actually have a part two coming soon to my hair story 😉. So why do *i* need color fusion in my zone 1? Well, shhhh… it’s a secret… but I am a natural level 5 brunette, and I need 2-3 levels of lift to get this most natural-yet-vibrant looking copper. 👩🏼‍🦰 The formula?
