Do you love the Portland Open Space Sequence? Please join us as we try to help more people find their way to this hidden gem. Stay tuned for more details.
We are a coalition of community groups, residents and Portland State students and faculty who have organized to engage the community in planning, designing temporary street signs that highlight how easy it is to walk to the Portland Open Space Sequence. Wish more people knew about and enjoyed this series of fountains, parks and connecting pathways designed by Lawrence Halprin in the Auditorium District? With support from Neighbors West/Northwest we are adapting an approach developed by Walk Your City, a civic group based in Raleigh NC. Beginning in April 2017 we are conducting a pilot project with 12 signs, before launching our full campaign—a total of 30 signs—this summer. There are many opportunities to be part of this campaign—from planning and installing the signs to planning related events and celebrations.

Thanks to the folks at Untitled Studio! They were kind enough to give us a tour of their Design Week Portland exhibit showing ideas for the Portland Green Loop! Can you see the Lawrence Halprin quote on the wall of quotes? It says "As you play in this garden, please try to remember that we are all in this together".
