Shalom House Art Program
Share
Welcome to the Shalom Art Program Page where we share the great work of our artists and where you can see their work!
At Shalom House we offer a variety of classes that appeal to the beginner as well as those who are looking to further their knowledge and skills. The diverse projects engage the clients’ visual and physical abilities and expand their sense of personal and creative potential. The benefits are many and varied as each individual brings a distinct perspective and life experience to their involvement with art. For some, attending the classes provides an ongoing therapeutic effect that helps lessen the intensity of their mental illness.

The Art Program is a pillar of our work - we offer art-as-therapy for individuals living with mental illness across the state. We are lucky to serve our community by offering a free art space, including supplies and opportunities to participate in art shows across the state.
You can vote for us once a day through November 12!

We are thrilled to announce that the Shalom House Art Program is the recipient of a multi-year $22,500 grant from the Onion Foundation. This is a transformative gift that will support us in continuing to provide hope and healing to those we serve!
The Onion Foundation helps to "build a more equitable and healthy Maine by deepening the connection of all people to the arts and nature," and we are thankful to be elevating this work. 💚
