You might be surprised to learn that most tone highlanders...I mean tube amp builders…say that consistent upholstery is the most challenging part of the tube amp game. This has understandably led many to outsource this work to a handful of specialized shops scattered around the world. We’re proud to wrap every cabinet in house.

There is a good reason there is a "bird cage" housing a strobing neon lamp inside every Tall Bird Plus…trying to isolate the optical tremolo elements from the outside world. There is absolutely no defensible reason they are adorned by eagles with ci******es.

One of our most fruitful collaborations over the past several years has been working with Bryan Sours and . Bryan is a true wizard when it comes to understanding the dark art of audio transformers, and his build quality is second to none. He also co-designed the ridiculous 880 watt Babylon amp with Chris and constructed the 70lbs of transformers required to bring it to life.

Our latest collaboration with Soursound is bringing back wax impregnated output transformers (which, as far as we know, no one has done in guitar amps since the 60’s). Moving forward we’re putting them in our Monarch, Bellringer, Redland, and Vincent amps. The wax dipped transformers open up the high frequencies, but also bring additional depth and size to the sound.

Today we dropped a limited amount of these Gold hammertone with Mint printing Germanium Preamps, available on our website. There's a few left...get them while you can!
