"Horror and the Holidays" is quick approaching! Shake&Pop is looking for script submissions from you, our siblings in the language arts, based on your favorite holiday film in the style of the Bard. Let your inspiration come from the horror of Halloween, the cheer of Hanukkah, or anything in between.

Love the movie It’s A Wonderful Life? Choose a scene you feel would translate beautifully into verse or prose, and let the Angel of inspiration move through you! We will stage these scenes during the fundraiser. We provide the space, the actors, and the audience. You provide your beautiful words.

Scenes should be between 3 and 10 minutes long. And please, use your own creativity--no AI. Scenes will be performed at our November 13th fundraiser at the Milwaukie Odd Fellows Lodge.

After every scene has been performed, the audience will vote on their favorite, and the winner of the most votes will be crowned Monarch of the Holidays, awarded Yorik’s Golden Skull, and given lifelong bragging rights.

Shake&Pop is organizing our November 13th fundraiser, “Horror and the Holidays”, to raise money for our 2027 show! We would like to invite you, our siblings in the language arts, to submit a script full of your wit and wisdom, based on your favorite Holiday film. We ask that your scenes be translated into “Ye Olde English,” or in whatever way you believe the Bard would have expressed the language and themes of the modern holiday.
