One of the exciting opportunities included in our electronics program is a visit to Daimler Truck North America.

During the tour, students will:
• Tour an autonomous truck and observe robotics and automated driving technology in action
• Visit Daimler Truck’s prototype and mockup facility, where engineers build and develop early designs
• Learn more about the technology behind autonomous transportation and the different STEM careers involved in bringing these systems to life

For BB2S students, experiences like this provide the opportunity to step into a real workplace, interact with professionals, see emerging technology up close, and imagine themselves in these spaces.

⚡ Did you know? Electronics are everywhere.

From the phone in your hand to the car you drive, medical equipment, computers, and the technology powering today's industries, electronics play a role in our everyday lives.

Our Introduction to Electronics & Circuitry program gives students in grades 7–12 a chance to explore how these technologies work through hands-on activities, circuitry, projects, industry exposure, and engineering experiences.

Students will have the opportunity to build, test, troubleshoot, and learn by doing while getting a closer look at where electronics and engineering can lead.

We’re just days away! 🤖

Our FIRST LEGO League Challenge season starts this Saturday, September 19th, and we’re excited to welcome our students for one final season of this incredible program.

As we prepare for our last FIRST LEGO League Challenge season, we’re also looking for volunteers to join us! Whether you’ve volunteered with BB2S before or this would be your first time, there’s a place for you. No prior robotics or LEGO experience is required.

Volunteers will help support students as they explore robotics, problem-solving, teamwork, and this season’s BioGlow challenge.

📸🤖 A little FIRST LEGO League throwback!

Looking back at these videos and photos reminds us of just how many incredible students, volunteers, families, and mentors have been part of our FLL journey over the years.

For BB2S, FIRST LEGO League has been more than robots. It has been about giving young people a space to build, create, collaborate, solve problems, and discover what they’re capable of. 🧱💡

And this year is especially meaningful. ❤️

After nearly three decades, FIRST and LEGO are ending their partnership following this season. That makes this the final season of FLL under the FIRST + LEGO partnership, and we want to make it count!

Our BIOGLOW season is open to students ages 9 – 15, and we’re also looking for volunteers to help make the season a success.

👉 Know a student who would love robotics? Encourage them to join us!
👉 Have time to give? Volunteer with our teams!
👉 Been part of FLL with us before? We’d love to welcome you back for one last season!

Let’s celebrate the memories, create new ones, and give this final season the sendoff it deserves. 💚🤖

🎓✨ Celebrating one of our amazing BB2S alumni!

We are so excited to share that one of our alumni has officially begun his pre-med studies at Yale University this fall!

Mekhi's journey with BB2S started years ago when he was an elementary school student participating in one of our off-site programs at Kairos PDX. Since then, he has participated in several of our programs and experiences, growing with us throughout the years.

This summer, before beginning his college journey, he returned to BB2S as a volunteer. It was especially meaningful to see a student who joined us as a young learner come back to give back to the next generation of students.

We are incredibly proud of how far he has come and excited for where this next chapter will take him. We know this is only the beginning, and we can't wait to see all that he will accomplish on his journey toward medicine! 🩺🎓💙

Congratulations, and keep shining! 🌟

Our Semiconductor Program Is Returning This Fall!

We’re excited to announce that our semiconductor program is coming back with an expanded focus on Introduction to Electronics & Circuitry!

Last year, students had the opportunity to explore semiconductor technology through hands-on circuit design and learn directly from seasoned engineers who provided valuable mentorship and insight into careers in STEM.

This year, we’re building on what we learned and making the experience even better.

Our 8-week program will give students the opportunity to explore electronics, build circuits, develop problem-solving skills, and gain practical experience while learning from STEM professionals.

We believe students learn best when they can build, experiment, ask questions, and see their ideas come to life.

We’re looking forward to another exciting season of hands-on STEM learning! 🚀
