What began as a series of surgical structural interventions became one of Jones Commons' defining features. Rather than conceal the new steel columns required for this historic adaptive reuse project, we celebrated them -- painting them a bold red to reveal the building's ongoing story. Even an off-cut from one of the columns found a second life, transformed into a child's bunk bed. A small reminder that some of a project's greatest opportunities come from embracing its challenges.

Schindler and his lasting influence on modern architecture, design thinking, and California indoor-outdoor living. It was an inspiring conversation on creativity, experimentation, and architectural legacy.

Andrew serves as Board President of Architalx, a 40 year-old nonprofit lecture series based in Portland, Maine that brings leading architects, designers, and thinkers together for public talks on architecture and the built environment through the month of April.

Very excited to share that AAmp’s Jones Commons has received a Special Mention in the Residential Adaptive Reuse category in the A+ Awards.

Originally a 1950s medical clinic, this project reimagines an everyday building as a mixed-use commons for living, working, and gathering. We're honoured that this approach to adaptive reuse and care for existing buildings has been recognized by the jury.

Construction is in full swing at our Maplden Residence in PEC! This project adds new life (and new wing!) to a historic farmhouse. Set within rolling fields, views were carefully curated to capture the changing seasons. We’re excited to see it taking shape!
