Alicia needed some transportation and didn’t want to spend another dime on an expensive car. Hello scooter! They signed up for their Team Oregon Basic Rider Training class, learned a lot, and came in to sn**ch this tangerine Genuine Buddy Kick 125. Congrats!

Grace is the latest member of the one car, one scooter household club which is gaining traction across Portland for people looking to save money on transportation costs and have a ton of fun in the process. She saw a lavender Buddy 50 on our website and came in for a test ride. After a few laps around the block she came back with a big smile and knew it was going home with her. Her son joined on pickup day and she’s been out enjoying that scooter in North Portland for a couple weeks now. Congrats, Grace!

Debra has been riding around on a no-name scooter with a giant pizza box on the back from a long-defunct shop on 82nd since back in 2009. Recently she decided it’s both a bit too heavy to handle and too hard to find someone who will service it. She wanted something more well-known and supported so she came in and picked out this Genuine Buddy 170i in the Italia color scheme. She wants other seniors out there to know that you don’t have to stop living just because the years start piling up on you. That’s pretty inspiring even for non-senior citizens to hear from time to time. Congrats, Debra!

Elizabeth has a good friend with a Vespa and they’ve gone on some fun adventures together with Elizabeth as the passenger. Eventually she was able to borrow another friend’s 50cc to cruise around town and get the feel for riding. That hooked her. One Team Oregon Basic Rider Training class later she came in to pick out this blue 150cc Vespa Primavera which will make out of town rides possible, and in-town rides more confident. Laura came in back in April to dream about scooters and learn what it would take to get her motorcycle endorsement. Fast forward a couple months and she came back, square with the law, and confident in her selection of this Primavera 150 with a rear rack and top case. Look out for her riding around Tigard having a great time!

One car and one scooter households are on the rise in Portland and Hannah is officially part of the mix. She was done with a two-hour daily TriMet commute and ready to reclaim her time. This NIU electric scooter stood out right away and after a ramen lunch break to think it through, it was hers. Taking control of your mobility changes everything.

Dylan is a pilot who lived in Hawaii for a decade and rode a scooter all over the place while out there. Since Hawaiian Airlines was bought out by Alaska he’s now living in Seattle and was looking for a scooter to explore his new city. He was on the hunt for a deal and found the last 2024 Vespa Sprint Sport 150 on our website. He had us add a smoked windscreen, cowl guards, alarm, heated grips, and a brake light modulator to the scooter before pickup. In the future, he plans to switch out the turn signals to the European in-body style. For a little icing on the cake, his dad, who used to restore vintage Lambrettas for fun in San Diego, recently retired and is excited to come visit Dylan in Seattle and see and ride the new Vespa around. Once he got it home he sent us a follow up photo from Kelly Park in Queen Anne. What a great day for a ride.

Years ago Cath had a Kymco People but sold it somewhere along the line. She came in recently to check out a Buddy 50 and then decided a Vespa Primavera Sport 50cc would be the better option for her use around McMinnville. She saved big on buying a non-current model year and headed out of here with a great looking scooter driven back to wine country with the help of some friends with a trailer. Congrats!
