TradesUp Initiative

Today we commenced the summer program for kids throughout the state. We appreciate the partnerships with The Center for Dynamic Learning and Providence Public Schools as we navigate early engagement in skilled trades. As an organization we have learned a tremendous amount from this process and even more from the kids. We will continue to improve the programs and enlighten our community to the benefits of experience in welding, pipefitting, electrical and machining trades.

It was a great season of learning, conversations and experiencing skilled trades with these amazing kids. Great work by Allison Dunning Fasulo and Jerry Vaughan assisting in keeping the kids engaged and excited. TradesUp Initiative continues to develop its curriculum and program to ensure kids get an opportunity to grow and gain valuable experience.

Ohhhh just some cutting, prepping, welding and leak testing. The competition was heavy and we had some rookies pulling up in camp on the vets. Jerry Vaughan had some tough competition from some 15 year olds. These kids are loving the skilled trades training portion of the program.

Want to start the week off with a positive and thankful post to Allison Dunning Fasulo and Jerry Vaughan who contribute their knowledge and time to our programs. Their vast experience and knowledge in the trades coupled with their connection with the kids makes this process 1000x more successful. They continue to elevate improvements in program content and student interface which allows TradesUp Initiative to grow in real time.

Ohhh an amazing summer!!! It has been a privilege to work with these young future contributors to society for the first 2 weeks of this partnership with Providence Public Schools summer internship program. These students have learned to setup, grind/cut and weld safely while utilizing critical thinking prior to job startups. We will continue to learn and move on to weld test and final projects. These students will be skilled in the trades with valuable experience.

This is the endgame. 7 future contributors to their households, communities and corporations. Immeasurable growth in 8 months. Now that’s what I call rapid results. We spoke truth to the program, its efforts and acted on it.
