I highly recommend letting your teen record your projects if you want a good laugh. She is so crazy and the motivation to get this project done. I have been putting if off for about a month and she said, enough we are going to get the aerial ribbon installed. So with much prodding from her I was finally able to get the anchor properly installed and ready for the kids to practice again.

My design friend was very patient with my curtain installation but this style would have save me so much grief. It I do understand why aesthetically the traditional style is better but my anxiety prefers this one. 😂

My life has gone a completely different direction than I thought it would. A year ago, I was working in corporate America and reeling from the death of my dad. He was one of my best friends and I spoke to him almost every day.

I wanted to lay in bed all day and wallow but I had a family to care for and a job to do so I kept moving forward. I went to work everyday and every day I felt a little more empty. But I was willing to do it because that was what I thought we needed. So when I lost my job in April I felt like the ultimate failure because I had failed my family and it felt like everything was crumbling around me.

In that moment my sweet husband gave me the space to find what I really wanted. At the end of the day I want to create stuff. I wanted to help people with their houses to make them homes, and that was how HandySam’s was born. This has been just a wonderful journey for me and this sound perfectly stated my feelings and how it has been going. But this is just the beginning and I can’t wait to see what is next.

In order to do bigger projects at my house I need more space for the projects. So I am getting the wood off the floor and stored in a manner that will keep it dry and from warping but I still need something for the plywood cuts off. Any suggestions would be great!

He really was willing to help but my patience wasn’t willing to wait.

Just to make sure everyone knows, I do turn off the circuit breakers before doing this work. That seemed to be a general concern for people when they have seen the videos with my past electrical work. I don’t really show how to videos but is that something people would be interested in seeing? But, either way, it was a quick easy job and adds so much utility to the family’s life. Before this they had an extension cord going across the floor and restricting closet access. I’m so happy to have helped them out.

It’s so hard annoying when one little thing would make life easier but it is such a small things that it’s probably not worth changing.

I have found this situation in two homes now where previous owners started a project and then left a potential hazard because they forgot about it. Specifically with live electrical wires. This outlet was not properly grounded and then left free floating in the attic half buried under the new insulation the family had just installed. Thankfully I was able to attach the ground properly and secure the box to a board to make it accessible to the family.
