World Su***de Prevention Day is a reminder that every conversation, every act of kindness, and every effort to support mental health can make a difference. The World Health Organization estimates that more than 700,000 people die by su***de each year worldwide, making su***de a major public health concern. By reducing stigma, encouraging help-seeking, and fostering connections, we can help create a world where fewer lives are lost to su***de.

The transition to a college campus can bring excitement and challenges. Stress, academic pressure, social expectations, and mental health concerns can increase the risk of substance misuse for some students. By fostering supportive communities, encouraging healthy coping strategies, and promoting access to mental health and recovery resources, we can help students thrive both in and out of the classroom. 💜

If you or someone you know is struggling with substance use, help is available through SAMHSA's National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

As students prepare for a new school year, it is important to remember that mental health is just as important as academic success. The CDC notes that 40% of high school students reported persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, and 1 in 5 seriously considered attempting su***de. By creating safe spaces for connection, encouraging open conversations, and ensuring young people know where to turn for support, we can help them navigate the challenges of the school year and remind them that they are valued, supported, and never alone. 💙

Travel can be exciting but taking care of your mental health while you're away is just as important as packing your suitcase. Before your trip, remember to pack any medications you may need, build time for rest in your itinerary, stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and eat regular, nourishing meals. A little planning can go a long way in helping you feel your best so you can fully enjoy your journey and return refreshed. ✈️💙

Culture, community, and connection play an important role in supporting mental health and well-being. July brings a special focus to the unique strengths and challenges that Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) face as we recognize BIPOC Mental Health Month. At We Rise International, we are committed to promoting equitable access to mental health resources and creating spaces where conversations about emotional well-being are met with compassion and understanding.

Your disability does not define your worth, your value, or your ability to make an impact in this world. Disability Pride Month is a time to celebrate identity, resilience, advocacy, and the strength of the disability community while continuing to push for accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 1 in 4 adults in the United States live with a disability. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that over 1 billion people worldwide experience some form of disability, making it one of the largest minority communities in the world. This month is not just about awareness; it is about pride, visibility, empowerment, and recognizing that disabled individuals belong in every space, every conversation, and every community.
