When these adorable babies first arrived in foster care, they were tiny little sprouts, so they were given vegetable-inspired names. But as they’ve grown, their foster mom jokes they really should have been called the Bakery Litter instead!

Why? Because these sweethearts are professional biscuit makers! Whether they’re kneading a cozy blanket, your lap, or each other, their little paws are almost always busy making biscuits while their tiny motors purr away. They absolutely adore people and are the perfect mix of playful and affectionate. One minute they’re racing through the house chasing toys, and the next they’re curled up in your lap, soaking up all the love and attention they can get.

If you’re looking for a kitten who will fill your home with laughter, snuggles, and endless entertainment, one of these precious babies could be the perfect match. Just be warned, just like opening a box of warm cookies, it’s incredibly hard to stop at just one!

We are overwhelmed. There are simply more abandoned, stray, and homeless cats and kittens than we can keep up with, and the situation is truly heartbreaking.

Please take a moment to read and share their message. If you’ve ever thought about fostering, adopting, volunteering, or donating, now is the time. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, makes a difference.

The situation is dire!

So many cats and kittens are in danger of losing their lives, healthy beautiful kitties just because there is no where for them to go. Shelters are closing their doors because they are full, rescues are overwhelmed and have no more foster space, and responsible people have no options for help.

From our director, the person who has to say, "We have no room to take cats and I don't know what to tell you to do".
"I cannot even begin to tell you all that is happening and how truly horrible and heart wrenching things are right now for cats and kittens everywhere. We are getting over a hundred calls, emails, texts, and messages a week from people begging, literally crying and asking us to help - to take beautiful cats and kittens, to help, to offer anything we can. It's excruciating to hear. These are good people who stepped up and have tried to save lives but don't have the time, the knowledge, the resources, or the ability needed."
We're getting calls from all over North Carolina and neighboring states. The situation is the same everywhere.
Sadly there is no foster space. We can only take as many cats and kittens as we have foster space for them.

What you can do:
- If you are thinking of adopting now is the time. For every cat adopted another can be saved.
- If you haven't thought of adopting, think about it. You would be saving lives.
- If you are wanting to help your community and care for animals, volunteer.
- Fosters are always needed but volunteers are need in other capacities also.
- Even if just for the summer you can help.
- Donate. Funds and supplies are needed to support the kitties. Purr Partners receives no government funding. Everything comes from donations.
- If you are a company or organization that can help with sponsorship let us know.
- Spread the word. Let others know how dire the situation is. Encourage everyone to do something as they are able.
- Educate. Support Trap Vaccinate Neuter and Return. TVNR. It's the only thing that works to address the cat overpopulation problem.

Meet Sonny, a handsome ginger boy with the perfect mix of playful energy and sweet affection! Sonny loves spending his days chasing toys, wrestling with his kitty friends, and keeping an eye on the world from his favorite window perch. He's curious, entertaining, and always ready for fun. When the excitement winds down, Sonny transforms into a loving cuddle bug who can't resist a cozy lap. He enjoys being close to his people and will happily reward your attention with snuggles and companionship. If you're looking for a friendly, affectionate companion who will keep you smiling with his playful antics and warm your heart with his loving nature, Sonny could be the perfect addition to your home.

Meet our Amazing Miss Annie. ❤️
This sweet girl is a true rags to riches story. Found abandoned with her brother. When she first was swooped up she didn’t trust a single soul. Adorably puffed up and hissed at her own shadow. But over time she kept creeping closer and closer to her foster mom finally ending up on her lap and never left. She will purr instantly when she sees her people. She is a perfect kitten, great with children and has even won over her foster mom’s grumpy personal cat. Annie would make any family happy with her sweet chirps and purrs.

Meet Cashmere 🤍
Some cats come into rescue and find their forever home quickly. Others quietly wait… and wait… and somehow get overlooked. Cashmere has been with us since she was a kitten, and we can’t understand why this beautiful soul is still searching for her person.
Cashmere is one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats you will ever meet. She seeks out love, rubs against you with her whole body, and happily stays by your side for as long as you’ll let her. In the photo, she’s giving a little boy a gentle nose boop because that’s exactly who she is. A cat who loves deeply and isn’t afraid to show it.
Recently, Cashmere underwent major dental surgery and had nearly all of her teeth removed due to severe inflammation. Despite everything she’s been through, she still eats dry food, enjoys canned food twice a day, and greets her foster mom with affection and devotion every single day.
Sadly, Cashmere is being bullied by a couple of the cats in her foster home. We believe she could do well with another kind, respectful cat, but what she would truly love is a home where she can feel safe, cherished, and no longer have to compete for peace.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a couch buddy, a shadow who will follow you around and shower you with love, Cashmere is your girl. She has waited long enough for someone to choose her.

🌶️ Meet our beautiful Pepper! 🖤
Before she was even grown up herself, Pepper became a devoted mama.
This sweet young girl lovingly raised four of her own kittens and even opened her heart to an orphaned baby who needed a mom. She never hesitated—she cared for all five as if they were her own, showering them with love, comfort, and endless patience. It’s an incredible thing for such a young cat to do.

Now her babies are old enough to begin their own adventures, and it’s finally Pepper’s turn.
Pepper is a gentle, affectionate kitten who would love nothing more than a family to call her own. She adores cuddles, enjoys companionship, and has done wonderfully living with other cats and the wonderfully chaotic energy of her foster family’s children. She truly has the kind of easygoing, loving personality that would fit beautifully into almost any home.
Pepper has spent her young life putting everyone else first. Now we’re hoping someone will choose her.
If you’re looking for a sweet companion with a heart as beautiful as her story, please consider giving Pepper the loving home she so deserves.

Why is Selena still waiting?
This is the question we ask ourselves every single day.
Selena has spent far longer in our adoption center than any cat should. Day after day, families stop to admire her, then walk away. Meanwhile, this beautiful girl patiently waits, hoping today will finally be her day.

We simply don’t understand why she’s been overlooked.
Selena is one of our volunteer favorites, and once you meet her, it’s easy to see why. She absolutely melts for butt pats, leans into affection, and has the sweetest, most loving personality. She’s the kind of cat who just wants to be your companion and to keep you company while you read, watch TV, or simply enjoy a quiet evening together. And have you seen those incredibly long white whiskers? They make her even more unforgettable.🥰

Selena’s story didn’t begin with kindness. She was found in a feral cat colony in a busy, high-traffic area where she didn’t belong. She was friendly from the start, and the other colony cats bullied her relentlessly. We believe she had once been someone’s pet before being abandoned. Thankfully, she was rescued before anything terrible happened.
Because of that experience, Selena is fearful of other cats and would be happiest as the only cat in the home, where she can finally feel safe and loved. In foster care, she blossomed with one-on-one attention, showing just how deeply she bonds with her person.

She’s not asking for much. Just a family who will see past the months she’s spent waiting and recognize the incredible companion she’s always been.
The hardest part? We haven’t received a single application for Selena.

Meet Carrots. 🧡
Some kittens are loud and adventurous. Carrots is different.
He’s the little one with the gentle soul…the kitten who simply wants to be close to someone who loves him. This handsome gray tabby may be small, but his heart is overflowing with love. He melts into your arms, happily soaks up every cuddle, and quietly reminds you that sometimes the sweetest companions are the softest ones.
Carrots has been lovingly fostered with young children, where he has blossomed into an affectionate little cuddle bug. He would thrive in a peaceful home with another young kitty to chase, wrestle, and curl up with, or a gentle, cat-friendly dog who would happily welcome him into the family.
Right now, Carrots is waiting at the Apex PetSmart adoption center with his sisters, Rose and Jellybean. If you’re nearby, stop by and say hello through the adoption window. Chances are you’ll find Carrots looking back at you, hoping today is the day someone falls in love with him.
Every kitten deserves a family, but the gentle, quiet ones are often overlooked simply because they don’t demand attention. Carrots is patiently waiting for someone to notice him and for someone to see what we see every day: a beautiful little soul who will spend a lifetime loving the person who gives him a chance.
