🚨The grey dog is at risk of immediate euthanasia.🚨The shelter doesn’t have room so as of now she is being euthanized on Monday.
We are told she is super loving and cuddly but needs some basic training for things like chewing and jumping.
The puppy is also in need of a foster. Her owner is being deployed and cannot keep her.
How would you like to sign up to foster and save a life? We need fosters who live within an hour of Raleigh-Durham.

Good Tin Man News! I hadn’t shared that we were concerned about his liver. When we pulled him from the shelter, his ALT and globulin levels were high on his bloodwork which indicated poor liver function.
Naturally we were worried about him but we knew that his heartworms could be causing his abnormal labs. We decided to hold off on an ultrasound and try him on Denamarin for a month before rechecking his blood work.
Denamarin is a supplement that supports liver health. Thank goodness it worked for Tin Man is now within normal range! Now we can focus on k!lling those nasty heartworms!
Tin Man will be available for adoption in a few months once he’s completed his heartworm treatment but folks are welcome to apply now. Tin man is an absolute delight. He is playful and is has become fast friends with his Yorkie foster brother.

Every day I get pleas from shelters to take a dog they desperately need a foster home for and every day I feel helpless because we need more foster homes. If you live within an hour of Raleigh-Durham, please consider fostering with us.
➡️ You don’t have to take any particular dog. I will send you a picture and information on the dog and you can decide if it’s a good fit.
➡️ You don’t have to spend any money! All vaccines, food, medical care, and anything else you can think of is covered by the rescue.
➡️ You can pick what type of dog suits you. You can foster a small dog, an elderly dog, a puppy or even a dog with serious medical needs.
➡️ You just need to commit your time. Fosters need basic training, love and attention. We need folks who can take their foster dog to their wellness exam, occasional events, and for professional pictures.
➡️ Occasional travel is fine! Just let us know so we can arrange a temporary foster.
➡️ You will have a foster coordinator who is there to support you every step of the way!
Apply to foster on our website! www.allgooddogsrescue.org.
*It’s difficult to get exact numbers but WRAL did an investigation and estimated that in 2024 more than 20,000 dogs and cats were euthanized in shelters statewide.
Tin Man just finished his monthlong course of Doxycycline which kills the bacteria that has a symbiotic relationship with the heartworms. Now he just has to wait a month before starting the actual heartworm injections that will kill the heartworms.
During that treatment, you have to keep the dogs still and can't let them get excited because you risk a clump of heartworms becoming dislodged. We know we'll have to sedate him because he loves playing with his foster brother.
All of this could have been avoided with a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm preventatives are surprisingly cheap and you can actually buy them at Costco's pharmacy without a membership. You just need your vet to call in the prescription. (You just tell the greeter that you're going to the pharmacy and they let you right in.)
Once Tin Man is all better he will be available for adoption, but you can apply to adopt him now!

Obsessed with how awkward Lucille looks! Remember our alumnus Oscar Asparagus & Lucille? They came over for a visit and the reason will explain why Lucille looks so uncomfortable.
Oscar lived with us for several months until getting adopted by his loving family so he feels right at home, but Lucille has never been here before and on top of that she had to get her an@l glands expressed. (Sorry for the misspelling. I’m not sure what’s considered acceptable on here. 😅)
Warning- I’m about to talk about p**p! Lucille has tiny hard p**ps and I don’t think her p**ps are big enough to express her an@l glands on her own when she p**ps so she’s been needing to get them expressed manually. Her mom is in medical school so this is something she can save money by taking care of that home. It’s actually really easy if you get someone to teach you. It just smells awful. So they came over for a visit and to learn how to do it. It was a very successful visit!
I absolutely love seeing former fosters thriving in their homes. Oscar & Lucille are so loved.

Beau has made so much progress since coming to our rescue as an injured stray whose life had been turned upside. We honestly couldn’t love him more!
Originally, we weren’t sure how he would do with my small breed resident dogs because he is overly playful and doesn’t know his size. He’s just over 60 pounds. But he’s come such a long way and is even learning how to play with them. We still have to keep a close eye on him, but Jaqweenie and Orson are starting to enjoy his company.
Because Beau has made so much progress with Jaqweenie and Orson we think he could potentially go to a home with another dog, if it’s the right home.
He’d love a home with a fenced in yard because he loves racing around the yard. Beau has done so well with his morning runs, we’d love him to find an active adopter. That could mean long walks and fetch, but he really does love his runs.
Mostly Beau just needs a stable, loving home. Could you provide that? If so, apply to adopt Beau today! https://new.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/AGD-A-34
(I might have lied about Beau being OSHA certified but that’s something you guys can work on together.)

Our boy Tin Man is fully vaxxed now that he got his leptospirosis booster! He is finishing up his month of doxycycline before he starts his heartworm treatments. Wish him luck!

Did you know that adoption fees rarely cover the full cost of caring for a foster dog? The cost per dog is often double the adoption fee. So grants like this are crucial for rescues.
All Good Dogs Rescue covers:
-spay/neuters
-wellness exams for all dogs
-DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies, & Leptospirosis vaccines
-f***l tests
-microchips
-any additional medical care or surgeries needed
-professional training when needed
-food, treats, toys, leashes, crates, & bedding, etc
That’s expensive, so you can see why All Good Dogs Director Jean Mosher is super excited to receive this grant!
Thank you so much to Assorted Poppies Photo for these incredible pictures! https://www.assortedpoppiesphoto.com

Happy National Dog Day!
Today, we’re celebrating the dogs — the goofy ones, the gentle ones, the ones still waiting, and the ones who have already found their people.
But we’re also celebrating the rescue organizations that show up for them every single day.
Through rescue partnerships and grant support, Animal Aid Alliance of NC helps organizations provide spay/neuter care and other critical resources that help dogs move toward healthier, more secure futures.
Behind every number is a dog.
Behind every dog is a story.
And behind so many of those stories is a rescue that said, “We’ll help.”
We’re proud to help the rescues on the front lines. ❤️
On National Dog Day, we’re honoring the dogs we’ve had the privilege to help — and every rescue partner doing the hard, hands-on work to make more happy endings possible.
🐾 Spay. Neuter. Support.

Dolly was the best of us but she was also one of us.
She never turned her back on her humble Tennessee roots. When a wildfire ravaged the area of TN she was from she provided monthly stipend of $1000 to families left homeless, supporting 900 families for 6 months.
Dolly’s generosity was legendary. She donated 1 million dollars to produce the Moderna COVID vaccine and got the jab televised to inspire others to get vaccinated.
Due to poverty Dolly’s father never learned to read. Never wanting other children to suffer like her father, she founded the imagination library literacy program that has provided more than 300 million free books to kids around the world.
A portion of Dolly’s dog clothing line went to an animal rescue.
Dolly was an LGBTQ icon. And Dolly was fun! She famously said “it costs a lot of money to look this cheap!”
Dolly’s memory will never die. Let us all endeavor to be more like Dolly- generous, fun, open hearted, and genuine.
