Sunday, AUGUST 16, 2026, will be a BIG day for Redding. The IRONMAN competition is coming to Redding in just FIVE weeks, and it’s a great opportunity to show the world what is so wonderful about this community!
Whether you’re an IRONMAN athlete, a family member, a spectator, a volunteer, or a community member excited to see such an exciting thing happen in your community, this competition has something for everyone.
Please be advised that during the IRONMAN competition, there will be:
✅Increased traffic on roads, in shops, and, yes, at your favorite local establishments. People are coming from all over the globe to be here for this competition, and chances are they’ll love your favorite places just as much as you do. Share your smile, offer recommendations, and please be patient as the community welcomes thousands for this special event.
🚧Road closures on race day, Sunday, August 16. Please give yourself additional travel time between Thursday, August 13, and Sunday, August 16. More details on anticipated road closures are coming soon.
🔨Work done on the trails ahead of the competition. While work is done year-round to keep the trails at their best, this maintenance will help ensure they are prepared for heavier traffic during the competition.
💓Opportunities to show up for your community in a positive way. Whether you choose to volunteer or you’re a community member who chooses to be a good ambassador for Redding through words and actions, every role is important.
