Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Gladys Mutie π
Gladys is the lead copywriter and researcher for Hope For The Nations, and a lot of the words you read from us start with her.
She digs into the needs of the communities we serve, like the Bunong people of Mondulkiri, and turns that research into articles and thought pieces that let those communities be heard. She also writes the stories that bring our projects to life on LinkedIn and beyond, and she helps with our social media wherever she can.
What we love most is how she works. Gladys is always learning and always up for a new challenge, and she brings the same care and curiosity to every piece, whether it's a long research article or a short caption.
Outside of her work, she's someone who looks for ways to help others and make a difference, no matter how small.
Gladys, thank you for giving our communities a voice. We're so glad you're on this team.

Pastor Benon and Ambassadors Christian Fellowship in Beitbridge opened their doors and something remarkable happened.
Over 2,000 people came from across Zimbabwe, and some crossed the border from South Africa, all gathering around one theme: Walk By Faith. The hall filled beyond what anyone planned for and still more kept coming. So they made more room. That is the kind of problem you are grateful for.
The gospel was preached. Lives were given to Christ for the first time. Bodies were healed. Prayers that had waited a long time finally found their answer.
We were honoured to be part of it. To everyone who travelled to be there, thank you. You made it what it was.
"Walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

Meet Sokha, part of the HR and Accounting team at OCTO. He plays a critical role in managing government and tax matters and keeping the organization's operations running smoothly. Outside of work, he loves reading, learning, and music, and is happily married to Tha SreyPoch. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and dreams of one day running his own online products business. He is one of Father Moeurn Chamroeun's sons, born into the very home he now helps run, and has been contributing ever since. Today he is still driven by that same vision, building something that helps OCTO's mission go further. Grateful for team members like Sokha who show up faithfully, year after year.

In Sokny is the joyful, steady heart of Esther House. Since joining in 2020, she has served as House Manager, leading with warmth, wisdom, and a deep love for the girls in her care. From overseeing daily routines to guiding house mothers and coordinating with the onsite counselor, Sokny creates a nurturing environment where every girl feels seen, safe, and supported.
There is something so powerful about starting a month in worship. It sets the tone. It anchors the heart. It says, before anything else, God is first here. And at Joshua House, that is not just something we say. It is something we live.
For our children, these moments of worship are becoming a foundation that will carry them long into their futures. They are learning from a young age that no matter what a new month brings, challenges, joys, surprises, or struggles- worship is always the right place to start.
September is full of possibility. And we are stepping into it with faith, with gratitude, and with the sound of praise rising from Joshua House all the way to heaven.

Pumlani was born and raised in Lusikisiki, and her heart for community started young, rooted in her Christian faith. By profession she's a cardiac physiologist, but her calling has always reached far beyond the clinic. She's served alongside organizations like Compassion International and Family Action, taken on fundraising challenges for the British Heart Foundation, and joined mission trips to Cambodia, South Korea, and Honduras, caring for survivors of trafficking, orphans, and the homeless alongside local churches. Today she's the Founding Director of EMBO Community Outreach NPO, and her hope is simple: that her work inspires others to do the same. Grateful to spotlight Pumlani as part of our H4N field team family.

In the hardest seasons, showing up again and again is its own kind of miracle. Aleks and the Bread2People team have been doing exactly that, delivering food, hygiene supplies, and hope to families across Ukraine who are carrying the daily weight of war. It's not a one-time gesture. It's a steady, faithful commitment to making sure no one faces hardship alone. That's what loving your neighbor looks like when it's put into practice, day after day. Grateful for partners like Aleks and his team who keep choosing to show up.

When school closed for the holiday, learning didn't stop at House of Hope. We sat with our children and reminded them that a break from school isn't a break from growing. We talked about homework, studying, and making the most of this time.
And before we could even finish, they told us their exam results. Most of them passed. Several placed 2nd in their class. These are children who could have been defined by their circumstances, but they're choosing to be defined by their effort and their hunger to learn.
We also reminded them to pray when they wake and pray before they sleep, because faith and discipline together carry a child further than either one alone.
So proud of them today.

Since 2009, Siem Sun has been part of the heartbeat of Joshua House.
He wears a lot of hats. Project coordinator. Translator for visiting teams. Mentor to the boys. And somehow, after a full day working in rural development across Mondulkiri Province, he still shows up for evening programs and weekend outreach, without ever making it about him.
The kids know him as steady, patient, and always ready with a smile.
Off duty, you'll find him with a camera in hand or out on the soccer field, doing what he loves.
Tag someone on your team who shows up like this. The kind of person everything runs on.
