We’re getting settled into our new place, my back has healed considerably, and the cats are finally comfy in the new environment, too.
Still doesn’t guarantee I’ll ever get my recliner back though 😂
Let me see your pets!

We’ve been in our new home for a week now and it’s starting to finally look a little less like a hurricane swept through the place, and feeling like the reality that this is our new home.
Pom Pom is normally pretty independent, but she’s been a lot more affectionate and following me around lol

Yesterday, I officially closed a big chapter of my life. We came back to clean the empty home our family had created so many memories in and say goodbye to it for the final time.
When we got inside, we discovered this incredible giant silk moth, about a 6 inch wide wingspan (yes, really) and we were all just completely amazed by its size, colors and design.
Admittedly, my time living in this home was ultimately very bad for my mental health over the last 3 years.
After 3 days of completely exhausting packing, moving, unpacking, organizing, today is the first level of real peace and decompression that I’ve felt in a very long time. I feel gratitude, hope, inspiration and a sense of my true self returning.
Being greeted by this giant silk moth as we said goodbye to our home felt symbolic in a beautiful way.
In the video below, I tried to put my hand close to it to show the scale of its size because these pictures do really no justice at all.
I was able to gently lift him and let him fly from my balcony.

You never truly own your home if you have animals, you just pay their rent

Damn bro this one is very sad, and surprises the heck outta me. Sam Neill has passed away. RIP Sam!
First off, I taught Michael Jackson everything he knew.
Second, I had to tell my daughter to GET OUT MY FACE
Dont open the wrong doors, dont let in the wrong people
Funny how some people switch up when you find success!

I had a much more happy sounding post written out, but it didn’t feel honest.
I always have a hard time on many occasions that others so easily seem to celebrate (and they should!), like my birthday, Christmas, and of course Father’s Day.
People will ask me what I want to do, what I’m going to do, etc etc, but I don’t know, and I don’t usually have the mental capacity to sit there and try to plan something out for myself.
It’s not that I don’t love presents, or surprises, or celebrations - “secretly”, I love those, and want them, and I think that’s because I’m still very much a child at heart.
But, I have this horrible habit of just letting these moments I should be celebrating just creep up on me, being depressed on the day, then as that day slowly comes to an end, I realize another one of these occasions has passed without me doing anything, making me feel even worse. And this process has become more regular as I become older every year.
I personally haven’t seen many men be transparent in the way that I’ve expressed, which is why I ultimately chose to share this.
My fellow Fathers!! Lift each other, call up your buddy, but most importantly, give yourself permission to celebrate the incredible dedication you’ve put into fatherhood, and drop the guilt of where you feel like you could’ve/should’ve done this and that better. It’s not only wise to give yourself grace and love today, it’s also necessary.
To all the fathers that choose to show up through thick and thin, every single day and every way - Happy Father’s Day.
