Scholarship Prep Riverside

Today, we began celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on campus. This year's theme, Together, We Are More, speaks directly to our Scholarship Prep community.

So many of our students, families, and staff bring Hispanic and Latino heritage into our classrooms every day, through language, food, music, and traditions passed down across generations.

Through October 15th, we're looking forward to sharing more of what that looks like in action at Scholarship Prep! Unidos Somos Más.

Did you know? Scholarship Prep Riverside has four sister campuses across Southern California, and one of them just had an incredible two weeks in the news.

Our Scholarship Prep South Bay Dolphins were featured on Spectrum News 1, in the Los Angeles Times, and on ABC7, all for the same three things: Morning Meetings, where every Scholar starts the day feeling seen and ready to learn, a Family Resource Center stocked with what families need most, and staff trained to help Scholars name and manage big feelings.

These programs and supports are not just a South Bay thing. It’s the same way we show up intentionally for all Scholars, right here in Riverside, led by your own incredible staff!

Swipe through for a peek at the coverage. All three stories are linked at https://linktr.ee/spps. 💙

Reminder, Scholar families: Our campus will be closed on Monday, September 7th, for Labor Day, and intersession will not be offered on this day.

We can't wait to see our Scholars back on Tuesday, September 8th. Enjoy the long weekend!

Lunch bunch vibes in the Scholarship Prep Riverside multipurpose room! 🍎

Whether it's a lunchbox from home or a meal from our free lunch program, 2nd grade knows how to turn a midday break into a party. After all, the best conversations can happen over a sandwich and snack!

When temperatures climb, our Scholars trade the blacktop for block towers, Magna-Tile builds, and their favorite learning games on Chromebooks. Staying cool, keeping busy, and still having a blast!

Ask a Scholarship Prep Riverside 5th or 6th grader why the sound of a creaking porch swing can say more than the word "summer," and you'll get a real answer this week.

Ms. Garcia's students explored Jacqueline Woodson's Brown Girl Dreaming, learning how she turns a memory into a poem, line by line.

Our Scholars have the weekend ahead to look forward to. But first, recess!

These Wolves know how to make the most of their time on the play structure. Climbing, sliding, and using their imaginations is always a favorite way to recharge.

Can you hear that? Our TK Scholars are singing about being a good friend, using kind words, and knowing when to give a classmate some space.

Carpet time is just one way we build community for our youngest Wolves from our earliest weeks here at Scholarship Prep Riverside. We know that when students feel safe, supported, and learn how to build friendships, they can’t wait to get to school each day!

Only one week down, and our Scholars couldn’t wait to share about their new school year adventures at pick-up this afternoon.

Enjoy the weekend, Wolves! 🐺
