🎣 The “She Will Say Yes” Smoked Salmon. ❤️
Fresh Lake Ontario salmon, smoked at home and piled high on an olive oil & rosemary bagel from Balsam Bagels, with cream cheese, local tomatoes and onions from G and S Orchards, and capers.
Catch it. Smoke it. Make the sandwich.
Apparently, propose afterward. 😂❤️

Captain Ken is back behind the mic, and we’re kicking things off on Lake Ontario chasing king salmon.
In this episode, Ken breaks down the trolling setup, depths, speeds and lures that worked—including the setup that helped a 10-year-old angler land his first king salmon and the biggest fish of his life.
We’ll be sharing photos of the lures from the episode right here on the page, too.

Since 1877, Elmer Hinckley Fishing Tackleg Tackle has been handcrafting fishing spoons right here in New York.
We had the opportunity to step inside “The Lure Lab” with current owner Pete D’Urso to learn the incredible history behind one of America’s oldest fishing lure companies, how these legendary spoons were originally created from silver teaspoons, and why anglers still trust them today over 145 years later.
If you enjoy fishing history, handcrafted tackle, Finger Lakes traditions, and the stories behind the gear we use on the water, we think you’ll really enjoy this one.
Big thank you to Elmer Hinckley Fishing Tackle for welcoming us into the shop and sharing this amazing story.
