An EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 80 to 85 mph began along Homelife Plaza in Rolla and travelled south before lifting near Soest Road. Tree and building debris was laying in convergent patterns. Additional limbs were downed south of Soest Road, however it could not be determined as tornadic from that point on due to the lack of convergent damage. The tornado was on the ground for a total of 0.7 miles with a width of 200 yards and caused damage to trees and the roofs of several businesses.

On 07-10-26 at 5:53 the Rolla Rural Fire Protection District, City of Rolla Fire & Rescue, Phelps Health Ambulance and the Phelps County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to a water rescue on County Road 8050. This was described as being a truck swept off a low water bridge.
As the person and their vehicle was being search for, the single occupant was located on top of his vehicle about a half a mile down stream.
City of Rolla Fire and Rescue's water rescue team then made a plan and proceeded to initiate their rescue plan with the assistance of Rolla Rural Firefighters. The victim was extracted from the water and then placed into the care of EMS.
While this had a positive outcome due to the great working relationships between departments it is always better to turn around and don't drown.
I would like to thank all assisting agencies for their assistance.
Chief Roger Hayes
