**Inflammation can be quiet. Your bloodwork may offer a clue.**

hs-CRP is a simple blood test that looks for inflammation in the body. It can sometimes provide another piece of information when you and your healthcare provider are looking at your overall heart health.

One important point: hs-CRP is **not a diagnosis by itself**. It can also rise temporarily from things like an infection, illness, or injury, so the number needs to be interpreted in context.

At your next physical, you might simply ask:

**“Would checking my hs-CRP add anything useful to my heart-risk assessment?”**

Good prevention starts with understanding your individual risk—not ordering every test, but knowing which information may actually help.

**Your health is your greatest investment.**

The most important investments we make are often the small ones repeated every day—moving our bodies, eating well, sleeping adequately, managing stress, maintaining relationships, and paying attention to the health signals that matter.

Over time, those choices help build the strength, metabolic resilience, cognitive health, and physical capacity we want to carry into later life.

Longevity isn't simply about living longer. It's about protecting the health and independence that allow us to **live better for longer**.

**Choose today. Thank yourself tomorrow.**

Your future health is being built long before you need it.

Longevity is not simply about adding more years to life. It is about preserving the strength, mobility, metabolic health, cognitive function, and independence that allow us to fully live those years.

The choices we make today accumulate.

Movement builds capacity.
Strength protects independence.
Nutrition supports metabolic health.
Sleep restores the body and brain.
Consistency turns small choices into long-term resilience.

You cannot control every aspect of aging. But you can influence how prepared your body is for the decades ahead.

**Don’t wait to become older to start thinking about healthy aging. Build the reserve now that you want to have later.**

Healthspan is the goal—not simply lifespan.

Two people can be the same age and live in very different bodies.

The difference is often **reserve**—the strength, cardiovascular fitness, metabolic health, cognitive resilience, and functional capacity we build and preserve over time.

Longevity is not simply about adding years to life. It is about protecting the ability to **think clearly, move confidently, remain independent, and keep doing the things that make life meaningful.**

Exercise. Nutrition. Sleep. Prevention. Metabolic health. Consistency.

The habits may seem ordinary. Their effects, accumulated over decades, can be extraordinary.

**Healthspan is the new lifespan.**

Longevity is not built in a day. **It is built daily.**

The choices that seem small today can become the foundation of how we feel, function, and live years from now.

🥗 **Nourish** your body with real, balanced food.
🏃 **Move** every day to preserve strength and function.
🌙 **Restore** with quality sleep.
🧠 **Focus** on brain health, stress, and meaningful connection.
📊 **Optimize** by knowing your numbers and addressing risks early.

There is no single food, supplement, medication, or treatment that creates longevity.

The real advantage comes from doing the fundamentals well—and doing them consistently.

You cannot control every aspect of aging. But many of the choices that influence your future health are made **today**.

**Healthspan is in your hands.
Live longer. Live better.**

Living longer is only part of the goal.

The more important question is: **What will those extra years look like?**

Will you have the strength to remain active?
The mobility to stay independent?
The mental clarity to stay engaged?
The metabolic health to reduce the burden of chronic disease?

That is the difference between simply extending **lifespan** and protecting **healthspan**.

Healthy aging is about building and preserving **reserve**—the physical and cognitive capacity that helps us remain resilient as we age.

And that reserve is built over time through the fundamentals: **exercise, good nutrition, restorative sleep, metabolic health, prevention, meaningful relationships, and consistent daily habits.**

We cannot stop aging. But we can influence **how we age**.

The goal isn't simply more years.

**It's more healthy, capable, independent years.**

That is what it means to be **Built to Last.**

After years of caring for patients—and watching the science of aging and longevity evolve—I’m excited to finally share something I’ve been working on for a long time.

BUILT TO LAST
The Longevity Blueprint
A Physician’s Guide to Living Longer, Stronger, and Better

This book grew from more than four decades of clinical experience and a question that has become increasingly important to me:

What is the value of living longer if we don’t also preserve the health, strength, clarity, and independence to enjoy those additional years?

Built to Last brings together evidence-based medicine, prevention, nutrition, exercise, sleep, metabolic and cardiovascular health, brain health, hormones, emerging longevity science, and practical strategies for healthier aging.

It isn’t about chasing eternal youth or promising a miracle cure.

It’s about understanding what we can do—starting now—to give ourselves the best opportunity for more healthy, capable years.

I’m very pleased to finally introduce the cover and share the title with you.

BUILT TO LAST: The Longevity Blueprint

More to come as we get closer to publication in two weeks!
