We are at a tipping point for this generation. And what we do right now will shape the kind of adults they become. πΏ
Kids today are more overscheduled, more screen-dependent, and less equipped to handle discomfort than any generation before them. That's not their fault. We built this world. Now we have a responsibility to offer them something different.
At Nature Rangers, we give kids direct experience of their own capability. Real wilderness. Real challenges. Real self-regulation tools they carry into the rest of their lives. We are seeing it work. And we want to see it spread.

The culture won't shift by itself. But it shifts one child at a time. You can be part of that. π

Did you know earthworms have five hearts? πͺ±
That's right, five! And they don't have lungs either, they breathe right through their skin. While they tunnel through soil, they're breaking down leaves and old plants and turning it all into rich nutrients for new growth. Without them, our forests and gardens wouldn't be nearly as healthy.
Nature is full of tiny superheroes, and our Rangers find new ones every week. πΏ

We need $20,000 more to get 50 low-income kids into the wilderness this summer. So I'm leading with the ask. πΏ
You know that feeling when your kid is falling apart and you don't know what to do? Many of the kids we serve feel that every single day, without the resources or options your family might have. A full summer in nature changes that.
Cortisol drops. Nervous systems reset. Kids who came in unable to handle hard things leave knowing they can. That's not a camp story. That's a life skill.
We've raised part of what we need. Here's what getting to $20,000 looks like:
πΏ 400 people giving $50
πΏ 200 people giving $100
πΏ 20 people giving $1,000
Any amount moves us closer.

Three months ago, he barely looked up from his tablet. Now he's covered in mud, carving a walking staff, and counting down the days until Nature Rangers. πΏ
"My son used to dread Mondays. Now he's curious, confident, and making real friends outdoors. This program gave him something I didn't even know he needed." β A Nature Rockstars Parent

Outdoor adventures call for snacks that keep little explorers fueled and happy. πΏπ
Here of our favorite trail-ready bites:
π₯ Trail mix: nuts, seeds, and dried fruit for energy on the go
π Apple & sunbutter dippers: crisp apples with sunflower seed butter
π₯ Veggie & hummus cups: carrots and cucumbers with creamy hummus
π Berry & yogurt parfait: layers of yogurt, berries, and granola
π§ Cheese & cracker stackers: whole grain crackers, cheese, and grapes
π Banana trail rolls: banana and nut butter rolled in a tortilla, sliced into bites
Pack one of these before your next outdoor adventure, and watch how far a little fuel can take a kid's imagination.

$5,000.
This community raised $5,000 for kids who need nature this summer. And honestly, we are emotional about it. πΏπ
That is real children who are going to spend time in the wilderness instead of in front of a screen this summer. Because you gave. Because you shared. Because you showed up.
We are building something here and we are just getting started.
If you haven't given yet, now is the moment to be part of this:

A kid climbs a tree, falls halfway down, climbs it again. No adult told her to. No screen gave her a reward. She just needed to know she could. πΏ
Turns out, that moment is doing more than we realized. A new scoping review of 40 studies found that nature-based risky play builds resilience, emotional regulation, and real confidence in kids across every age group. Not as a side effect. As the actual mechanism.
When children get to take on real challenges in nature, their nervous systems learn how to handle hard things. That skill follows them for life.
This is the science behind what you see every time a Nature Rangers kid comes home muddy, proud, and already asking when they get to go back. πΏ

There is a quiet crisis happening in Santa Barbara. And honestly, versions of it are playing out in every community across this country. πΏ
1 in 5 kids here lives in poverty. Screens are the most accessible babysitter. And without intervention, these children grow into adults who are more anxious, more reactive, and less equipped not because they're less capable, but because no one gave them the chance to discover what they're made of.
Nature Rangers is changing that. Right here.
With measurable outcomes. And we need this community's support to keep going.
