Anyone wanna help a spicy 16 year old and her equally spicy ferret win a competition and, thus, help said 16 year old attain her goal of funding her future Medical Alert Service Dog (training, supplies, the works)? Our youngest daughter is helming our ferret’s run in this month’s Top Pets contest. The winner gets $10k and a chunk of money is donated to the charity of your choosing. She has chosen our favorite ferret rescue, ’sArkFerretRescue.

My classes are shifting into the Poetry section of their semester tomorrow. I’m offering supplemental videos to go with the close readings I have chosen for them and, of course, I HAD to share one of my all time favorites. No one reads Dylan Thomas like Michael Sheen. They also get a few of Shakespeare’s sonnets as read by the incomparable Sir Patrick Stewart. Now i just need to find a suitably spine-tingling rendition of The Raven because there’s no way we are skipping Edgar Allan Poe!

The greatest thing about having finally earned my Master’s Degree is now having the time and energy to get back into my personal writing and work. I poured everything into making my way through the accelerated bachelor’s to master’s program, doubling up/down to make the dream happen.

Now that I’ve had a few weeks of just being “only” an instructor, I’m going to start getting back to what makes me ME…
