MossHound Designs is a luxury arts brand producing custom and one-of-a-kind artwork comprised of organic, sustainably sourced, hand dyed materials.
MossHound Designs is a contemporary fiber artisan inspired by nature and rooted in
sustainability. We specialize in handcrafting one-of-a-kind statement art composed of
locally sourced, small-batch, and organic materials. Every piece of artwork is hand crafted by owner and artist Nicole Hemmerly in her studio in Niceville, Florida, and delivered worldwide. The resulting artwork is inspired by the landscapes, colors and natural textures found in the environment, and are equally as unique. Just as in nature, no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Beneath the Surface
Over the past decade, my work has become less about mastering individual fiber techniques and more about discovering the conversations that happen between them. Dyeing, felting, blending, binding, weaving, and stitching no longer exist as separate processes—they overlap, merge, and evolve together, much like memory itself.
The works in Beneath the Surface are rooted in deep, earthy color and unexpected texture. They are shaped by landscapes I’ve wandered, music that has filled my studio, and the people whose stories have quietly woven themselves into my own. These influences are rarely visible in obvious ways, yet they live within every layer.
What appears on the surface is only the final expression of a much longer process.
This exhibition is an invitation to slow down—to look beyond the immediate texture and discover the quiet histories, connections, and transformations held within each piece.

After months of planning, prepping materials, gathering inspiration and testing out new techniques in fiber art- the new works have been packaged and shipped up to Portland for my solo art show at the beautiful CASCADA Portland 🙌
Feeling accomplished, nervous, excited and relieved. All the feels.
This will be my first trip up to the Pacific Northwest!
Sept 24th CASCADA Portland let’s do this!

Well, I was only going to post a few of the sneak peaks from the latest photo shoot but they are all my favorites. Ruth Ruth Alcantara 🌻🐝 was such a joy to work with and Costa Union Club is such a dreamy venue. 🤩
New products coming, evolving in my craft, a solo art show in Portland and a whole website refresh. September is going to be BIG.
