3-8pm. The Spirit of ’76 is a sentiment referring to “the attitude of self-determination and individual liberty made manifest in the Declaration of Independence.” (Wikipedia). The Spirit of ’26 (2026) perhaps is the realization that individualism without communal action for the common good leads to fractured, politicized misuse of power where no one is truly free. Our 4th of July Celebration is in the Spirit of ’26!

The person who did this broke the law. They clearly believe they are above the law and their own disgust, hate or frustration are more important. We must put human suffering (which includes poverty, homelessness, and communal banishment) above personal preference and aesthetics. This act of violence against the occupant's personhood only exacerbates the shame and trauma that accompanies not being able to afford and maintain a home in a permanent edifice. Humanity is better than this. Work with us to build a better, more resilient community.
