Dave’s Hot Chicken has revealed plans for a new Pasco location at 7235 Burden Blvd., taking over the former Subway space that closed in May. Permits for the project were approved in mid-August, but an opening date has not yet been announced.

The Los Angeles-based chain has been rapidly expanding its presence in Washington, with multiple locations now open across the state. Dave’s is known for Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and sliders, with spice levels ranging from “No Spice” to “Reaper,” along with loaded fries, mac and cheese and shakes.

Walmart is starting to rolling out new payment options including Apple Pay and Google Pay in stores across Washington starting today. The contactless option will allow shoppers to pay with eligible cards, phones and smartwatches at checkout.

The rollout comes after years of Walmart relying on its own Walmart Pay system. Tap to Pay is expected to reach all U.S. Walmart and Sam’s Club locations by the end of 2026.

A new round of U.S. tariffs on Canadian imports kicked in early Saturday after talks between the two countries broke down, with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney suggesting Canada was in an economic “war” with its neighbor.
