Braided Seeds provides opportunities for rest, restoration and reconnection to the land, especially

Please join us in welcoming our newest team member, Tina Guevara! Tina is joining Braided Seeds as our new Youth + Families Program Coordinator.

Tina (she/her) is an environmental justice educator and critical scholar. She is passionate about learning within place and storytelling as avenues for deepening connection to lands and waters. As a Filipina American, cultural ways of knowing the natural world through food, movement, and slowness are essential to her teaching practices.

After finishing grad school, Tina has spent her time rooting in Seattle through community work. You can often find her making compost at the Danny Woo Community Garden or talking about trees in the CID neighborhood. When it comes to being outside, she loves sitting near the water with a snack, watching sunsets, knitting by the fire, and slowly getting into biking.

Tina is looking forward to building more BIPOC community and sharing stories outside!

Fall is right around the corner, which means it’s the perfect time to cozy up with a warm cup of coffee.

And what better way to enjoy your morning cup than by supporting access to the outdoors?

With every cup of the Braided Seeds Blend, you’re helping support more opportunities for BIPOC communities to get outside, explore, and enjoy the outdoors, with half of the proceeds supporting this work directly!

Find the blend through the link in our bio or at welovecampfire.com/braided-seeds

A huge thank you to Campfire Coffee Co. for making this collaboration possible!

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest team member, Cathy Jackson!

Serving as our Programs + Outreach Assistant, Cathy (she/her) is an artist who mainly works across ceramics, poetry, and painting. Born and raised in Seattle, she has always felt a deep connection to the PNW and grew up with nature woven into her everyday life, from fishing trips with her father to braiding daisy crowns with her cousins.

She is passionate about building community and believes it is one of the most important parts of living a healthy and meaningful life. As a recent graduate of the University of Washington Tacoma, she is excited to bring her creativity and experience to an organization whose mission she deeply cares about.

Outside of work, she loves working with her hands, whether baking bread, making clay sculptures, or learning guitar. She especially enjoys taking nature walks and finding little moments of beauty in the world around her.

Welcome to the Braided Seeds team, Cathy!

So much fun in the North Cascades with this group of middle school students last week! We learned that rest is personal and what we need may not be what the person next to us needs. For this bunch, it looked like time near water, art, napping, and lots and lots of play.

A Discover Pass grants more than just access to Washington’s state parks. It provides individuals and families with the opportunity to reconnect with the land and with themselves in the outdoors.

Through our Discover Pass Distribution program, we’re helping remove financial barriers so Black communities and communities of color can create lasting memories on Washington’s public lands.

During Give 8/28, every gift to Braided Seeds helps make opportunities like this possible. When you donate just $50 to Braided Seeds, you gift an individual or a family one year of access to Washington’s beautiful state parks.

Click the Linktree in our bio on August 28th to make your gift!
