We had a so much fun in community at the 2nd annual Sound Transit safety fair on Saturday at Odessa Brown Children's Clinic 🧡🧡🧡 we even got to hang with THE Doppler of the Seattle Storm!

This summer in our New Futures programs, youth had space to experiment, create and express what mattered to them.

Through our New Futures partnership with Southwest Youth & Family Services and Geeking Out Kids of Color, Arts Corps brings arts programming directly into community spaces where youth and families already gather. As Arts Corps Program Manager and Teaching Artist Eris shared, the goal is to make creativity part of a larger network of support so youth don’t have to travel far to access it.

For Eris, art can also give youth a way to process what they’re experiencing, explore new ideas and discover a growing sense of possibility.

“There’s power in expressing who you are and letting the world see that,” said Eris.

What a weekend 💙

We had two incredible Art 4 Life showcases full of creativity, connection and fearless self-expression!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. We love sharing these moments with our community.

On Friday, we joined our incredible partners Amara at , where young campers took the stage to perform original songs they wrote after forming bands in two through the legendary Rain City Rock Camp experience 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾 Seeing campers discover their voices, collaborate with one another and perform with so much confidence was an unforgettable way to celebrate the program.

We kept the celebrations going on Saturday at CAM, where our Art 4 Life campers and interns filled the gallery with artwork that reflected their creativity, growth and unique perspectives. So wonderful to see everyone sharing their work with family, friends and the community 🌸

We’re so proud of every young person who shared a piece of themselves this weekend, and so grateful to our partners, families, supporters and everyone who came out to cheer them on🥰❣️

Thank you for helping make these showcases so meaningful. We can’t wait to see what these young artists create next 🎨🎸✨

Applications are open for White Center CDA’s Community E$$-cents Youth Internship!

This is a paid, six-week youth internship beginning February 12, and will explore the concept of financial wellness, its significance across our diverse communities, the ways finances impact our lives, and the framework of Community Cultural Wealth. Participants will also learn how to navigate different financial systems through a structured curriculum. The program will prioritize collaboration with and stories from inspiring local leaders, elders, business owners, educators, and entrepreneurs of White Center.

We are looking for:
💡 ~15 young adults ages 16–20 living in unincorporated King County
(Those under 16 do not qualify)
💡 Individuals committed to learning about financial wellness in relation to community well-being
💡 Participants available every Tuesday and Thursday for 90–120 minutes over 6 weeks (February 12–March 26)
💡 Full attendance is mandatory
💡Applicants must submit original responses based on their own experiences (An AI identifier will be used when reviewing essay responses)

Please note: If a participant is under 18, parental consent is required.
