Samba Dance
We are starting up again our beloved weekly Afro-Brazilian dance classes featuring live band. New choreography is introduced in each class.
This divine collaboration of music and dance celebrates 20 years in Seattle. Through dance we build community and cultivate personal grace and strength. AFRO-BRAZILIAN DANCE CLASSES
All classes feature LIVE Brazilian music and drumming! Mondays ~ 6:30-8:00pm
Fremont Abbey Arts Center ~ 4272 Fremont Ave N (map)
Experience the joy of Brazilian carnival while learning samba, samba-reggae, maracatu, and other dances to the driving rhythms of live Brazilian drumming! The class starts with a gentle warm-up based on the Feldenkrais Method® that eases you into the full-body movements of the dance. This class is great if you’re new to Afro-Brazilian dance, or if you want to hone the basics. It’s a great workout as well! Every spring or summer we conjure up an original celebration of rich Brazilian dance and music that we take into the community: it could be a show or simply the finale of the Fremont Solstice Parade. Consider joining us this year....
