Golden Bee Alchemy

r old Chilean Rose tarantula (still alive today)! Years of wishful thinking and if-only's slowly grew into a passion, and then an obsession: I wanted bees, I needed bees, I'm gon' get my bees! And after some prodding (and what felt like YEARS of debating), my son finally joined me, and we coordinated our efforts to bring our apiary to reality. Knowing no beekeepers in our area, and armed with only our wits, will, and a couple of books, we installed about 4,000 bees into 2 top bar hives in our backyard in 2019. After a very challenging season, we successfully wintered our very first hive in our very first year. Fueled by excitement and success, we have expanded to four hives, which includes 2 langstroth hives and we will continue to expand to many more!
